I’ve been taking my bun to the vet every 6 weeks for her nail trims, but I’ve recently read somewhere that they need to have their nails trimmed more often or else it causes problems. Is this true? Should I start taking her every 4 weeks? Tia

It really just depends on your bunny and how fast their nails grow! Some buns have fast growing nails that need trimming once a month. Somewhere between 4-8 weeks seems to be average. You can tell when the nails are too long when the tips stick out past the fur line.

Thor is weird, she seems to only need her nails done every 4-6 months but that is an outlier. I think because she is free roam that she wears down her nails somewhat by digging and running.

You’re so lucky you only have to trim every 4-6 months! I think I’m going to start taking Lily more frequently
