I was inspired to write this by a thread that I had come across from awhile back. I wanted to take a moment to publicly thank my little Dizzie girl for being my very best furry friend. My little girl is so sweet to me and so sassy to EVERYONE else!  She swats and growls and lunges at anyone in her path, but my girl is so sweet and loving with me. She’s always there when I need to “talk” and when I am sad, she lets me cuddle and hold her. One time I had such a horrible day and I just sat on the floor and cried. She came over to me and placed her little white paw on my leg as if to say, “its ok, mama, I’m here!” My heart melted at the moment and I stopped crying and laughed. It was one of the most heartwarming situations that I have ever experienced in my life. My girl is always there for me and loves me no matter what (even after taking her in for a nail trim). I never knew that I could love somebunny so much. I adore the “pants” off of that little girl and would do anything to keep her happy and healthy. Having a bunny, especially my Dizzie, had been one of the most rewarding things in my life. I am happy to say that I have “rescued” each of my bunns. My first, Cupcake, was a Humane Society bunny and Dizzie, Spike and Derby all came from a local rabbit rescue. I may have saved them from being homeless, but they have all saved my life in many different ways. Dizzie is my precious little princess and I will love her and keep her safe for the rest of her life. Thank you, Dizzie!

Your post is beautiful! You saved a bun (s) and got so much more in return. How lucky are you! Good on you ‘Dizzie’ (princess)!

I understand this. It can be hard explain, especially to non pet people.

Most people look at me like I am nuts when I tell them that I have house bunnies. They dont realize that bunnies can be litter trained and can roam freely. Its sad…but the good news is that news is spreading around where I live that Bunnines make wonderful house pets. Its heartwarming to walk into a pet store and find other bunny parents shopping for their fur babies too! One of the girls from the rescue where I adopted my three from came to visit me recently. I was telling her about Dizzie’s people agression and her tummy troubles. She mentioned that most people would have given her back already! I was blown away, but I knew she was right. Most people would have. I love my little girl, despite all her sassyness and her tummy. I have learned to live with and deal with her “specialness” and make her comfy and happy. Its sad that people would “throw away” a perfectly lovely animal just because it didnt turn out the way they thought it would. I look at Dizzie’s sweet little face as she is snuggling with me in bed at night. I snuggle her in her blankey and hold her close and rub her cheeks and I know that no matter what, she is always going to be mine. While I adore Spike and Derby more than I ever thought I ever could love something also, I have this special bond with Dizzie. She is mine and I am hers.

On a side note, I fell asleep on the couch last night after a long day at work. I awoke to Spike standing on my chest licking my nose!!! I thought it was the cutest thing EVER after having such a crappy day!
