My rabbit vet is hours away and super expensive in these areas. My rabbit is slipping and tries not to move too much. He eats his food, treats, and doesn’t scream/cry when i touch his legs to see if somethings wrong. The other day I saw his whole nail was missing! No blood, he’s just missing his one nail. I don’t know how to prevent an infection… Nor if he’s in pain. He is separated from his mating-phase brother (who he is terrified of haha). I need advice on what i can do to help his leg and maybe even prevent an infection while his nail grows. Any products? Help!

I have no advice other than to get him to a vet to take a look, as that is what I would do.
I’m commenting to give your post a boost so others see it in case they have other advice.
Hope he’s feeling better today – as bunnys are REALLY good at hiding their pain with being pray animals.

Unfortunately, the best course of action is to go to a vet and get an xray done and formal assessments. There are a lot of things that can cause what you’re describing, and all appropriate interventions, like surgery or medication, can only be obtained through a vet. Can you send videos to the vet for some guidance?

Him trying not to move too much means he’s probably continually hunching, which is a sign of pain in rabbits.

Is your rabbit neutered, and is his brother neutered? Also, how long have they been together, before you separated them? If they are not neutered and you have separated them from each other because of what’s happening with the rabbit who’s injured, it could be his brother attacked him and hurt him, because they are not bonded. Rabbits do not have family units. Brothers are the same thing as strangers. They get along when they’re babies because they’re babies.

The emphasis is though, you need to see a rabbit-experienced vet.

For the missing nail, have you ever clipped his nails before? Losing a nail, one of the main causes, is the nail is too long so it snags on and gets ripped off by something.

the problem is that this could be a variety if thing’s and without knowing witch one it is its hard to prevent infection or similar things. If he inst moving thats not a great sign. Its important you go to a vet as your buns health may be in jeopardy. Most often a lost nail is from a nail that got to long and eventually came off. Clip your rabbits nails and that should help but I would recommend going to a vet.
