Hi! I got my Ruby spayed today, and I’m really worried about hypothermia or something happening. I have a heating pad in the cage, as well as a blanket, and a warm sock filled with rice (homemade heating pad lol!) and she won’t lay on or near any of it. I checked to see if they were too hot but they aren’t. When I place her on them she moves away. I turned the heater on in the house too as a last effort. Should I be worried? She’s been pretty active since we’ve been home, but I’d hate for something to happen to her.

Hi, she shouldn’t need a heating pad unless she is hypothermic, but then she would need to see a vet.

She will be fine as long as she is eating and pooping normally and staying active.

My rabbit didn’t care for her heat pad either but her ears were cold so I moved her cage to be near a radiator (that was warm not hot) and she warmed right up and was quite happy.
