Hi there, my rabbit has this bald patch on the back of his neck. There aren’t any flaking or anything that could be mites. He has been molting on his forehead and one area of this bald patch has been having a little bit of hair growing and I’m wondering if that might be the cause? I was reading rabbits go through a molt that helps make room for their adult hair? If that’s true, could this be why he’s bald in that area?

Or should I just take him to get seen.

It does sound like molting if you are already seeing hair growing in there. It’s not uncommon for them to get completely bald patches during a molt.

Ah okay! Yeah he’s always had thin hair back there and this past month was when I started noticing a patch of hair slowly growing there. I was just a bit concerned when the bald spot widened but I’ll still keep an eye on him. Thank you!
