My Rabbit doesn’t hop

My 1 1/2 year old American Chinchilla Rabbit Nugget doesn’t see to want to hop. She gets around mostly by just walking like a dog or cat would. She doesn’t seem sick and it has been going on for a few months. She did have ear mites but they were treated. I’m not sure if the ear mites maybe messed up her equilibrium permanently or if something else could be the problem. Her daughter was diagnosed with a disease, i’m not sure what it was called, but it had something to do with the way her muscles in her leg don’t respond to her brain properly so it causes her to hop a little funny. When I went to the doctors they said that she could’ve got it from one of her parents. So I’m also thinking Nugget could’ve been the one carrying it and is now being affected by it too? I need some advise I hate seeing her act so different. She is a lazy bunny to begin with so I’m not sure if she’s being lazy just because, or because she doesn’t enjoy moving anymore.

I’m sorry that your bunny is having a problem. It seems like a vet visit is in order to diagnose her problem and see if there is some treatment that could help her. It may or may not be the same problem that her daughter was diagnosed with.

I’m sory it sounds stressfull. I’d take her to a vet for a diagnosis. This sounds like you should differentiate between yoru exotic vet who sees rabbits, and your exotic vet who is EXPERIENCED with rabbits.
