Tomorrow I’ll be heading down to my cousins house. They found a young rabbit a few months ago. They asked around to see if anyone had lost him, but no one owned up, so they decided to keep him. When they learned that I was looking to get a rabbit, they suggested that I could have him. They say he’s quite the cuddly little guy and a bit of a Houdini (likes to escape from his cage). So tomorrow I’ll be going to meet him, and check out his personality etc. Just a quick question as well, how would you go about introducing yourself to a rabbit for the first time. I know there are certain things to do with a dog, but I’m not sure about a rabbit I’m so excited!

Approach the rabbit from the side (they can’t see directly in front of them) and don’t touch him until he’s comfortable with you and has had a good sniff. Rabbits are very timid so I wouldn’t expect to suddenly hit it off or for him to come running up and want a pet (although if your lucky he will!) it usually takes weeks for them to settle and become their usual selves so bare this in mind when you think if you want to take him home! I hope it all goes well for you and hopefully you’ll have a new addition to the family!

Also offer its favourite food in your hand to see if he’ll trust you enough to come over and have a nibble

Thanks for the advice! I’ll be sure to let you know what happens tomorrow!
