So the other night I woke up after falling asleep cuddling with my daughter and I would have sworn there was something in my eye. So I got up and looked in the mirror and I literally could not close my eye all the way because it was so swollen and it was very red. My actual eye ball…I tend to overreact and freak out…and panicked a bit.

Well now. as i’m going through the posts on binky bunny I’m having trouble reading (I usually have better than “perfect” vision) so I’m a bit concerned…and trying not to freak out. It gets a little better if I close my one eye (the one that swelled up the other night)…So I’m starting to the whatever caused the swelling (no idea at this point) caused some damage to my left eye.  I’m considering getting an appointment to have it looked at but I’m not sure if my reg. doc will know or if I should go to a specialist.

Anyone have any idea what this could be? Do you think I should go right to an eye doc or check with my reg. doc?

<---What I looked like the other night, lol

Is it red and icky looking? Could be pink eye.

If it was you’re bunny you wouldn’t hesitate… This is your vision we are talking about. Your GP (reg doc) should be able to treat it if it is pink eye or a general infection and refer you to a specialist if its something more sinister. But I would not wait to long, why risk permanent damage to your vision when it may be something that can be dealt with quickly and easily.

Roberta, that is true. Hubby thinks it might just be allergies but I don’t know…he’s saying that to try to make me think it’s not that big of a deal…and I don’t have insurance…so that makes me think if it’s just something simple then why run to the doc for it….

LBJ-It’s not red, icky or oozing anymore and everything I have read about pink eye suggests it takes a week or two to die down and this was only a couple of days…so I doubt it’s pink eye….but it was something I considered…especially because of the line of work I’m in and a 2 year old and two pets who don’t poop outside..lol
