We moved to a house that finally lets us have pets and adopted a beautiful little (well, not exactly little,  about 10lbs) REW from the humane society. He had been in the shelter for 6 months due to his eyes, people found him “scary”.

        Powder:

Then about a month later I was on craigslist and I see bunny in need of a home. I wasn’t really planning on getting a second until after Powder was neutered and healed up, but she had been abused and the lady who took her from the abusers wasn’t allowed to have pets so had to get her in a home fast and wanted her to go to a good one, so sucker that I am, moved my schedule up a few weeks and brought home Stickers!

Powder is about the best bunny you could imagine – he will gently pick up a wire with his teeth, move it out of his way, then let go doing no damage. He doesn’t dig. He chewed one book on the spine a little but a “no” stopped him and he doesn’t go back to chew things he isn’t supposed to. He was litter trained the first day home, even though the shelter he was in didn’t use litterboxes!

Stickers… well… I think she’s a young bunny. She digs the carpet, chews anything she can get her teeth on, is a totally destructo-bun and skittish. But she’s a sweety too – she’ll hop up in my lap to supervise when I clean out her litterbox, she didn’t come litter trained but it only took her a few days to catch on. She still leaves some droppings outside the box, but easy enough to vacuum those up! And if you pet her she just bunny flops where she is and enjoys the pets.

Stickers just got through with her spay surgery about 30 minutes ago and all went well, unfortunately wasn’t able to fit Powder in for his neuter this week because the vet was booked up  will have to wait for boyfriend to have another day off to take him.

And we also have a cockatiel : Thanos

He is friends with Powder but not so much with Stickers. She’s a bit too wild for him – chases him like his tail feathers are a feather teaser toy! Powder and Thanos eat their salads on the floor together (in separate piles) and Thanos will preen him.

Ha, I had to smile at Thanos “sipping” a beverage through a straw! Did he really manage to get some of the liquid up through the straw? lol Powder and Stickers are sweet bunnies, it is hearwarming that you rescued them and they in gratitude are being so good to you. Thank you for your helpful post in my thread about coroplast. Do you have a coroplast floor for your bunnies’ habitats?

No, I was going to build a NIC cage with a coroplast floor but Powder freaked out when I caged him – complete phobia, banging against the walls of the cage, etc. So I just let him run free and bunny proofed the bedroom area, so when we go out he gets locked in there. He’s such a sweety and doesn’t bother anything, he sleeps beside or under our bed. I didn’t want him hurting himself stressing that badly from being caged, I can’t blame him, he was in a tiny cage for sooo long! He wakes me up in the mornings to say “clean my litter box and play with me!” by jumping up on the bed. During the day he has free run of the house.

Stickers isn’t bothered by a cage but she’s so hyper I hate to take away her ability to run, so she has her own room for now away from Powder. She took to her litter box in about two days, so only problem she has is she digs the carpet (which we’re hoping the spay fixes). So her cage is open 24/7.

And no, it was soda (but the straw was clean, had just brought it home!) so he’s not allowed to have it, he loves to chew straws though lol was a cute picture I have one of him in a bowl too, because he loves to just jump in my plate/bowl and “share” my dinners.

They are all my babies, so a tad bit spoiled. <3

Your furry (and feathered) family is adorable. Powder is incredibly beautiful. I love REWS. Looking forward to seeing lots more pics of him!

My cockatiel Moonshine just has to share whatever I’m eating. One day I had some ketchup on my plate and she was so excited over “our” dinner she hopped on the plate, walked thru the ketchup and then freaked out and landed on my shoulder getting me covered in it.

Hehe i’ve had that happen a few times with various things. My tiel once jumped in alfredo and I had to wash him off, he got it all over me… and himself! They’re such funny little birds.
