Hi all, I am new to the forum, hopefully someone can help me out!
I want to ask you about this thing happening to my rabbit. He is a 1.5 year old neutered male. I got him when he was about… 4 months old, or that’s what we think.
The problem that he has is that he will shake his head rapidly to the sides for about 5 times in a row. It can happen at any time and under any circumstance, i.e; eating, running, playing. It doesn’t really have a pattern either, it could happen twice in a 5 mins lapse or it could happen once a day. This has been happening since we got him, around 1 year.
I’ve taken him to 2 different vets already. One thought it could be ear mites so we got meds for that… nothing changed. Then the other thought it might’ve been an infection, we got meds for that and again, nothing. Both agreed he was a healthy rabbit though.
It doesn’t really affect him much, but definitely there is something happening there, and I don’t like it.
He doesn’t look or act sick, his poop is normal. He eats well, his diet consists on carrots, green leafs(mostly kale), pellets (1/4 cup daily), timothy hay and some treats like banana or apple.
Any idea of what that might be? do you think it would be worth to do like a scan/x-ray kinda thing?
Thank so much for reading, I know this was a long post.
