  Hey guys, this morning I noticed my bunny was limping- I have no idea how he injured it. He’s young only about 2 yrs old.
  
  He is eating and drinking water fine and is hopping around like a tripod bun. It seems like he can move his front left paw but avoids putting weight on it. We tried to examine it but he won’t let us touch it (he doesn’t like having his paws touched anyway)
  
  I called the vet and they can’t see him until Monday
  
  Has anyone had experience with an injury like this? What can I do? Can I give him half a baby aspirin to help with him discomfort for the next few days? There is an emergency clinic but they don’t have small animal specialists…I’ve taken small animals there before and all they’ve done was give pain Meds and antibiotics and tell us they don’t know what’s wrong..also I’m not sure if this is an emergency since he is eating and drinking normally? He’s still asking for pets and gets excited about treats too.

  I would just keep him confined. Will the vet not see him if you do a drop off? That is what I do in case of emergency – they always fit my rabbit in.

  They don’t do that where we go- it’s a really busy hospital in the middle of a major city.
  
  Should I give him some baby aspirin to keep him comfortable? Do you think this is an emergency situation??

  From what I have read, aspirin can be given to rabbits, but only after you have consulted a rabbit savvy vet.
  
  Here is one link regarding aspirin for rabbits, which does say it is safe, and gives the dosages, but one of the comments from a member of Bunspace posted that her vet said aspirin is dangerous.

  I looked at a few different sites. Some say aspirin is okay to give, as long as your vet okays it, but other sites talk about the dangers of aspirin.
  
  Besides the emergency clinic, are there any other vets nearby that might see your rabbit? Even vets that mainly see dogs and cats and don’t see a lot of rabbits, could x-ray or examine the foot and hopefully get your bunny some help if needed. You could either call your regular vet back and ask the vet’s opinion on aspirin, or try calling some other vets that are close to you, who have treated rabbits, and see if one could see your bunny today or tomorrow.
  
  I hope that it’s nothing serious and he is better soon.
