We’ve had her for a week, and this started basically as soon as I bought her hay, which was five days ago. She loves going in her hay. Constantly. Ruining every pile of hay I put in her cage. I bought her an edible hollow log with a hole in the side, and I put it in the corner, with the side of the cage blocking one end, and the food and water dishes blocking the other side.
Three days later, she still hasn’t figured out how to poop or pee on the hay. Until today. I cleaned her cage, and put bedding only in the litterbox, to litter train her. She hates the floor, so she sat on her log, eating hay upside down, until I broke down and put bedding on the floor. I was worried about her knocking over her water dish, because she would put her feet in her food bowl, and stretch to reach her water. I put bedding on the floor, but every once in a while I see her hop up there. I thought she was just sitting there relaxing, but apparently not.
I was putting fresh hay in the log, and discovered a mega pile of cocoa puffs behind the log. My guess is she’s pooping up there and it’s rolling down between the log and wall.
I’m not too worried, I bought a hayfeeder online, which will hopefully be a better solution than the log thing, although that’s working just fine till today. I’m just curious, is anyone else’s rabbit this strange?
