Moving into an Apartment with roomates–Tips?

I recently (less than a month ago) adopted a shelter rabbit who is between 6 and 7 months old. He is my emotional support animal and soon we will be moving into my first apartment. I am in school and will have 3 roomates. They are all excited to have him with us but it is a small space and I was hoping for any tips to make the move smoother and tips or pens that are good for small spaces.

I suggest a cage or grid to make a pen from C&C cages. You can get custom corroplast bottoms which will help protect the floors where you are moving into, and the grids can be connected into almost any shape. Xpens are also pretty good from what ive heard. As for making it less stressful for your bunny, make sure he has met everyone you are moving in with. Make sure they know how and when to handle him in case they ever need to. Discus with them if he will be free roam or limited to your room only. Discus litter boxes. If possible, move him in the day after the initial move in so he doesnt get stressed with all of the ubpacking and noise going around

Thanks! The tip for the floors will be great I cannot put down carpet because he will put it up (and then eat it) and I don’t want to pay for dammaged hard woods.

To be respectful to your roommates, you might consider identifying his exercise area early on. When I lived alone I let my bunny run around the house free, but when I got a roommate, I confined his roaming space to my bedroom only so my roommate doesn’t have to stress about leaving her computer cord out etc. It might be something to consider discussing with them. I made the decision to keep him confined, even though my roommate wouldn’t mind if he ran loose- I just don’t have the cash to replace her stuff if he gnaws her wicker chair/computer cord etc lolol

Additionally, I would change the litter frequently- I change mine every other day. Offensive pet smells can be a point of tension, so if it’s your pet, it’s considerate to make sure the cage/litter is kept really clean to keep on good terms with your roommates

Don’t let your roommates just pick him up right off the bat! Let them just hang our with your bun and feed him herbs to get to know your roommates the friendly way <3
