Alfie has officially begun his first molt… There is hair flying everywhere!! I’m brushing him 2-3 times a day because I am always afraid he’s going to develop wool block. He’s been drinking much more water than usual but I’m posting because I feel like he’s gotten lazier? When I let him out when I get out of class, he’ll do a quick round of the room but then just flop down in various parts of the room. I’m not complaining because he’s actually been snugglier than usual, snuggling right up next to me while I’m watching TV, I just wanted to check and see if this has happened to anyone else when their bun molts. I also think he’s developing a molt line under his mane, it’s very funny looking, I’ll have to take a pic when I get home from work today.

Definitely. My boys were going through a really bad molt two-ish months ago. I leave the house at 6am and don’t get back until 6-7pm, so the boys only are really out for about 5 hours. One day the cage door was open and neither one wanted to go out. I enticed with treats and fruit and pellets, but they just wanted to stay. I felt so guilty for them not getting an exercise time, so technically being in their cage for 36 hours. The next day they were excited to come out. I’ve noticed they get a tad lazy during molts.
