Hey guys. So my Nova (Lop doe, almost 4 months) is having some skin problems. At first, not knowing the signs of mites, I thought it to be dry skin or some type or molting complication. After doing some research, I think the problem is actually fur mites.

Nova has an appt with the vet tomorrow evening, so the problem is soon to be resolved, whatever it is. However, I’m naturally very curious and thought I could get some more insight via the forums.

My question comes in two parts. First, if any bun moms or dads out there have experienced mites, would you mind looking at my pictures and seeing if there are any similarities?

Two, assuming the problem is mites, what type of measures should I take to begin cleaning? Nova is basically free to roam all over my bedroom and has access to lots of surfaces including carpeted floor, her own bed, many towels, and blankets, etc. If anyone has had a mite problem in the past, how extensive was the cleaning process?

For some reason, I can’t upload the pictures I have so I’m going to include a link to the two pictures.

Thanks in advance for any advice or insight. <3

Hi, I’m sorry no one answered. Where you able to get an answer from the vet?
