  They give mirrors to caged birds for entertainment but I did not know rabbits cared for mirrors. Neigey used to box at his reflection but lately he will sit glued to the mirror in my closet door for long periods of time. He will touch noses to his image, and eventually he will fall asleep.
  
  I think Neigey is nuts. If he was an only rabbit I would understand but he is certainly not lonely. The trio is right there, or at least one other bunny is with him in the room but he chooses the mirror.

  That is too funny! I used a mirror to block off the bottom of my dresser before I had enough grid squares and Basil thought there was a alien copying his every move! he would binky then have a cow when he saw his reflection do a binky at the same time! lol he was a single bun for so long he didnt know what a rabbit looked like I guess! it was really funny!

  that is so cute. Mirrored binkies! I want to put a mirror into my rabbit pen now but I only have one without frame and one of my rabbits will even chew glass so I can’t put it in.

  Maybe he’s a racist and only likes pure white bunnies?
  
  My GF’s rabbit which was a REW seemed to gravitate towards her white stuffed animals more than the others.

  Smudge gravitates towards the bathroom mirror whenever i take her in there for brushing. Guess her and Neigey have a thing for adorable buns

  In a really weird way, it’s kind of cute. Obviously he loves that other bunny whose so cold. lol Or he’s extremely narcissistic?

  I love this! I don’t really have a mirror around for my bunnies, but I know Blu periscopes high to see through the windows on the back door… I think he is interested in the “other” bunny…since he always does it when it’s dark out and he can see his reflection. And every time Oreo secretly got into our bedroom, she was always laying right next to our closet doors when we walked in, and they were mirror doors. Funny bunnies..

  thanks Monkeybun! Now we are getting to the truth of rabbits seeing their own reflection just fine and that Neigey isn’t nuts! It’s just that three of my rabbits have no reaction to their reflection so I thought Neigey was odd. Smudge is very pretty. I like this photo of her.

  I do think Neigey sees the mirror bunny as another individual and so it’s not a narcissistic thing he’s feeling.

  Sometimes it crossed my mind to bond Neigey to another BEW mini rex. I have wondered if that would be his perfect match. But of course I have my quartet full. Neigey has really hit it off with Duffy, they are very similar as it turns out, they like the same things and act identically in many ways. Duffy is like a Neigey with black splashed over him.

  Well I could be wrong but somewhere between 25 seconds and 40 seconds I believe I see three different tooth purrs from Neigey towards the reflection.

  i actually have a full length mirror tucked behind the couch in pinky’s room. i think i’ll slide it behind her enclosure as an experiment to see if she is fascinated with her own reflection too.

  The pic is so cute but also kind of sad. He looks so confused. I always wonder what animals think about mirrors. My childhood cat would do the same thing with our floor lenght stand mirror. She would stare at herself for a few minutes, then walk behind the mirror looking for the cat, over and over again.
  
  Olivia has a little heart-shaped mirror in her cage (a bird toy). I was curious what she would do but she totally ignores it.

  Do he choose to sit in front of the mirror rather than play with the other bunnies? I wonder if he can comprehend that he is viewing himself since he is just sitting there and staring at the reflection? Either way, at least he is easy to entertain! Now he will never be lonely, with or without other pets around!

  ok… operation mirror in pinky’s room is not a hit. there has been a steady resounding *thump* every 5 min or so since i slid the mirror out from behind the couch. that was an hour ago. it’s so weird… the way she tries to snuggle with bogart you’d think she was lonely.
