Welp, I’ve done it. The local humane society had a ~4 yr old male mini rex for adoption, and I was pretty much crazy all of Sunday night, when I discovered the post, till Monday evening, when I finally got off work and could go meet him. To make a long story short, he seemed like a happy, confident, relatively friendly bun, and we adopted him.

I was a bit worried the first few days, because I’ve been spoiled with Merida, who is very fastidious with her litter habits (except when I do something Unacceptable, like re-arranging the inside of her hutch- then all bets are off). Liam, however, was doing his business pretty much everywhere but his litter box (which he seemed to think was perfect for napping in)

But he seems to be figuring things out, and I (thankfully) haven’t had to clean/vinegar his temporary hutch in 2 days now. I’ve let them sniff each other through Merida’s pen gate, always with a buffer so they can’t nip. I’m not sure what the bonding process will hold, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a wild ride. Merida is a very nervous bun, but also a Diva. Liam seems more confident exploring new spaces, but is very skittish to our touch -he literally twitches away from pets sometimes (mostly at the base of his ears/side of his face, and his flanks); I wonder what kind of home he was in previously

But he is a handsome boy, and I’m hoping they’ll make a pretty -and happy!- couple
