So I might be in danger of falling in love & this may turn into a failed foster, but this is my foster bun! Temporarily named Monty although I might keep it? His previous fosters named him “Old Guy” & called him OG for short but I don’t think he’s actually that old, my guess is around 2-3 yrs.

He was found at a construction sight with oil all over him & sore hocks. Most of the oil is off of him but some still remains, I was thinking about giving him a bath to try to get more off but I’m a bit nervous to bathe a bunny So we’ll see lol. The rescue renamed him to Monty which fits him much better but I’m considering finding something else, I just can’t think of anything, I just know I want something different. He looks like he should have an O or M name though for sure

He’s pretty quiet & well behaved (knock on wood). & very curious about everything I’m doing. He’s starting to get excited when I come in the room, it’s so cute! He has tendencies that remind me of Mimzy & he’s so sweet which is why I feel like I’m in danger of a failed foster Anyway, I’m so excited to at least have a bunny to care for again!

Monty is precious! Thanks for fostering him. There are times when failure is good, and foster failure is one of those times.

I think Monty is a perfect name for that gentleman! And yes, this foster should fail, as it’s clear you adore him! Pretty clear he adores you too. Brava!

Lolol…. Let’s all hear it for the failed foster! I would be so bold as to say it’s a done deal! FAILED! Stamped all over it. It sounds like he has already adopted you so you might as well reciprocate. And truly, any bunny that lets you hold him with one arm, snuggles his snoot perfectly into your neck under your chin, and let’s you take a picture….well, that’s a keeper!

Nice to meet you most noble gentleman, Monty (for now).

Oh goodness, what a sweetie! Im glad you’re getting some bunny-time again, Mimzy.

There is something about his fur that makes me think he’s a satin.

I’m wondering if he’s mixed with something else but I just read that the colored points on Californians is determined by temperature. I guess if they’re kept in cooler temperatures, their ears, nose, & feet are darker, but in warmer temperatures, they are lighter. I was thinking he’s mixed because his points aren’t that dark & he has almost no color to his feet, but if that’s really true, then I guess he could be full Californian I’m reading that their fur is soft & silky, which he’s not as soft as others I’ve pet, however, it could just be because he needs to shed out what fur got messed up from the construction site.

Also, I been thinking about new names…I’ve so far come up with Otis or Olaf I still may keep it as Monty but I’m kind of hoping I can come across something even better
Does he look like an Otis or Olaf? Or does Monty fit him better?

Opie! Actually…I kind of like Monty. When I hear of Monty I always think of the Count of Monte Cristo. Of course as kids we called it the Count of Monte Crisco. I don’t even know the story (how sad is that) but the Count of Monte Cristo always sounded cool.

So I go with the noble name of Monty. Also I read it is short for Montgomery or Montague. Very proper names. Anyway that’s my vote.

P.S. So have you started or signed the official adoption papers yet?!?

This Olaf would say that’s a great name for a bun.  He’s a himalayan bun. His human may know a think or 2 about the changing colours due to seasons. I think she said Olaf’s boots turn dark in winter.

                                      Loving the name Montgomery!!

Funny you should mention Bunny supplies.   Last month, I realized I’d spent more than $120 on raddit supplies ALONE.  Food, litter and hay.  That’s it.

I’m on a fixed income, and when I looked at that hit, I was aghast, and when I mentioned the cost to my very wise for her 12 years of age daughter, she said, “Yeah, but look at all the love and joy we get from having them around.”

And I can’t argue any of that.  Cheap at twice the price.  (Please, Universe, don’t interpret that as a request to raise prices)

I’m late in replying! But I never realized the 2 breeds were so alike! I never really looked up Himalayan rabbits before, Definitely think he’s more Californian though, he’s a bit on the larger side of rabbits xD Maybe pushing around 10lbs. My Obi was right at 10lbs if I remember correctly

As far as names, I’m definitely stuck on Odin or Otis now xD

                                                          Otis here.

How’s that for ambiguous. 2 for Odin and 2 for Otis.

Actually I still prefer Odin. I’m not as fortunate to have experience with butlers like “Master” Q. (Just ribbin’ Q8bunny in jest)
