This little guy is Murphy. He wasn’t a planned addition to the family, but I love him all the same! I’m pretty sure he’s a mini Rex (?), as he’s about the size of my two Holland Lops. I don’t know where Murphy came from (there are 3 numbers/letters printed on the inside of his left ear – not sure what that means), but my friend adopted him in late 2012. I’ve never seen him anywhere but in a small cage in the corner of the living room. My mom and I have talked about how sorry we feel for him and how much we wish we could take him home with us.
Last time I was at said friend’s house, she asked me, totally out-of-the-blue, if I wanted another rabbit. She said that she felt sorry for him because she never does anything with him. She wanted him to go to a new home but didn’t want to give him to somebody she didn’t know well. I, obviously, said yes, and took him home that very day!
He’s proving to be such a sweet bun. I’m not used to having a rabbit that actually seeks out attention! Quincy and Oakley are lovely, and I love them to bits, but it’s been proving itself to be difficult to fully connect with them. Murphy is very outgoing, while my other two boys are much more reserved.
As for the name – I’m not 100% sold on it, but I’m pretty sure Murphy is what we’re going for. I wanted something both cute and quirky, and something that follows the names ending in -y/-ey theme.
So, this is Murphy’s introduction! I’m sure he’ll be a great addition to the family.
