HI! I’m Brigid, the animal crazed teen. I have been homeschooled all my life and I am preparing to start at a real college next year. I love photography, skiing, hiking, biking, animals, nature, drawing, and knitting.

This is Kya! I went to my local rescue to pick up some bunnies. I was interested in this pair of beautiful black dutch girls but I hung with all the bunnies just to be sure and I met this cutie. She is so sweet and affectionate. She’ll melt to the floor and close her eyes when you pet her face She is hard to photograph because she always racing back and forth across the room doing these absurd little twists in the air. I don’t know why anyone would get rid of her??? Anyways, she is a 2 year old grey and white dutch, spayed.

She has such big eyes I’ve never seen a Dutch with the colour grey – she is the first. She looks like a really beautiful girl. Congrats I have a Dutch girl myself – strong-willed and always busy doing something.

Could you make a space between the pictures, so they won’t stretch the page?

I’ll have to tell her she is pretty eyes. I agree they are large. She is such a good bun bun. She like to play hide and seek. Shell hide under a piece of furniture and all you’ll see is a twitching pink nose. Then I’ll giggle and two eyes will appear momentarily, than shell rocket out from underneath and race around the room. To let her out I just leave. The door to her area open and she comes out very quickly (she’s fearless). To get her back in is another story. Because of the current set up of my room and the fact that it’s not totally rabbit proofed yet, herding is very difficult. So I have to pick her up and put her back. I hate to do this to her but it’s better than leaving her alone to destroy my room. The great thing is she completely tolerates being picked up. As soon as I slide a hand underneath her front feet and chest she goes into “pick up position” and than I can support her back feet and lift. While in the air she doesn’t even squirm, she doesn’t shake and her eyes don’t go all wide either. When I go to set her down she doesn’t try to kick free at the last second she just waits for me to set her down.
Off topic, does any one else find it cute how they eat?

Yes! They are very cute when they eat…and also when they groom themselves And when they do binkies Hmm, actually all the time

You are lucky to have girl who is that easy to lift. It can be a real struggle with those bunnies who squirm and make noises. She sounds like a really easy girl

How do you pronounce her name? Like Kia?

Yeah, I believe the original spelling is Kaya but I left out the first a because I like 3 letter names it’s pronounced Kiah (that’s actually a cool spelling too).

Aw, the herding. That’s actually a very easy behavior to train. Although Felony pretty much never gets penned, if he does need to be he knows when to go. It tooke me a few days to teach, but if I stand next to his cage and shake his raisin bag he knows to go into his pen. Then I would shut the door and give him a couple raisins. You should try to teach that bc picking her up and putting her in her cage can be stressful and it can cause a negative correlation with her pen.
