Hi! My name is Alexandra and my bunny companion is Fiver. :] He is 4 months old and I adopted him at 3 months. He will be neutured next month (thank goodness!). He is a very energetic rabbit, but I am hoping that will calm down after he is neutured/ages a bit. He is extremely curious, and can run around for hours without tiring out. He has just recently discovered the pleasures of being scratched and pet, and when he wants it he will do anything in his power to get my attention. He also loves my computer for some unknown reason, haha.
A little bit about me, I am 19 and go to Le Cordon Bleu for Pastry. I used to own a rabbit when I was a kid, and he was the greatest pet I’ve ever owned. Sadly he died of a brain tumor at the age of 2. Ever since I have wanted a rabbit, but have not been financially able to until now. Before Fiver I was stressed and had no way to vent, but now that he is in my life I have grown increasingly calmer and can sleep better than I have ever slept before. It’s amazing what such a tiny thing can do!

Pictures coming soon, I’d take a few now but he’s passed out in his cage and I’d hate to disturb that adorable sleeping boy!

          Hi there Welcome!

Aren’t bunnies a huge source of relaxation? My bunny has made me laugh and forget about work when I get home

Welcome and yes bunnies can be amazing to calm down with when you pet them. I’d love to see pictures when he wakes up.

Welcome to you and Fiver! Looking forward to pics.

Rabbits can be incredibly therapeutic. They are so wonderful.

I got a picture of him this morning, but he was pretty active and wouldn’t sit still for the camera! This is one of the few that I got without a blur. :]

                  EDIT:
Apparently the image isn’t showing, does anyone know how to post pictures on a forum? Here is a direct link for now.

Ahhh, those directions are great. Thanks!

I know, his fur is amazing! Before choosing him I had gone to about 3 different rescues trying to find the perfect match, and the second I picked him up I knew I could just cuddle with him forever. Anyone that pets him jokes that they could use him as a foot warmer, haha! I can’t wait to have a photo shoot with some natural light, I really want to show off his shading. A few people have compared his coat to that of a siamese cat, just gray!

Welcome Fiver and Alexandra! I also have a Fiver bunny and he is a mini-rex…you can see his profile in my signature.
It’s funny, I’ve always thought the quintessential bunny was the lop, but there is something just so wonderful about the rex/mini-rex. They are a whole different personality altogether and wonderful fun! My little guy was returned to the pet store where he was bought and I was lucky enough to be there that day to adopt him. He’d been mistreated, so it took a long time for him to realize that a hand outstretched to him could mean a nice noserub and cheek chucky and ear pets. I’ve had him three years this August.
Cordon Bleu…mmmm….my aunt was a Cordon Bleu chef and her cooking was one of the joys of my youth. I long to be able to prepare delicious food like she did, but alas…I lack the skills.

Hope you enjoy your time here at BB.com! Beware other members with poking sticks who will hound you for pictures of that lovely bun! (Myself included!)

                                Welcome! He’s absolutely gorgeous!

And what a cool degree you’re getting. I love all things cooking. Do you get to make the cool fancy desserts out of sugar and chocolate and stuff?

To Mimzmum: My first rabbit was a netherland dwarf, and you’re totally right about rexes having their own personalitys. The dwarf was a sweet little thing that was totally content just sitting on your lap being pet, but with Thumper its like he can’t sit still! He is really one of the most active rabbits I have ever dealt with, haha!

Thats great that you were able to rescue him, it’s sad knowing the amount of people that just buy rabbits without considering the amount of time you need to put in for them. I’m glad he is with a good owner!

To be honest, I’m a terrible cook! I try to make at least 3 homemade meals a week, but they usually turn out pretty mediocre. That’s why I turned to baking and pastry, it’s just like science so I can follow it way easier. Plus, when you bake everyday your bound to progress at some point!

Hahaha, thank you :] I’m going to try and get some pictures this week, it just seems as though any time my camera comes out he turns into this monster that just wants to run and jump and never give me a clear view!

To Elrohwen: Yep! I just can’t wait until we can make wedding cakes by the end of the program. It’s going to be great!
