  I just got my first bunny Bean.I have wanted one for a long time and my husband and I have been talking about getting one after we moved, but one day walking through the mall I fell in love with this adorable lil bunny at the pet store. When I picked her up and held her she just cuddled into my chest and stared at me. My amazing husband then made the decision to get the bunny now and I couldn’t be happier! I admit I don’t know a whole lot about bunnies but I have a great friend who knows a lot that I can turn to when I need some advice and this site is completely helpful. I don’t even know what breed my bunny is! I didn’t know bunnies were so sensitve to heat and I live in Hawaii in an apt with no air conditioning. Thanks to this site I tried a couple things to keep her cool and learned she is AFRAID of fans. She literally will run in circles around the room until you turn it off then curl up in her cage and shake. Poor lil thing.
  
  Bean is just over six months old and I got her at the local pet store. We also have a cat, Jelly, who is about 10 months old and thinks the bunny is annoying and twitchy. They seem to be interested in each other but won’t really go near each other. A few times I have watched Bean walk up to Jelly and sniff her and Jelly just sits there looking at me thinking she will get in trouble if she moves lol. We are all still adjusting to the new member in the house but it is going extremely well so far. She is even already potty trained

  Aww, she’s gorgeous! I would say she’s a hotot (pronounced ho-toe)…if you search “hotot rabbit” images, you will see that they look exactly like her .

  She actually isn’t all the curious. The only thing she seems to want to explore is our cat but the cat is afraid to play with her because she thinks she will get in trouble. I got Bean one of those wood balls they can chew and she won’t even really play with it. She has chewed on it a little but thats it. I am thinking once she gets more comfortable with her room she might explore more. Do you know of any good toys?

  Thank you! Bunnies can definitely be kind of addictive, heh. I actually “have” four rabbits…Tammo (RIP) and Remi are family pets that live with my parents, while Peppy and my new bunny Milo live with me in my apartment. It’s strange, all of them are spayed and neutered, but I keep finding myself with more and more rabbits…

  A fleece blanket or a towel? Be sure that bunny does not eat it though Some bunnies LOVE to dig. Mine prefers MY blanket over hers and will dig in it, smooth it out, and binky! it is a great thing to witness

  Bean loves to dig as well. I was thinking of getting a box or basket or something and filling it with maybe shredded paper? Give her something to really dig in.
  
  I definitely can understand. I have seen 4 bunnies on craigslist already that need homes because people got them for their kids for Easter and now don’t want them I want to take them all!

  Shredded paper is okay- have you tried newpaper through the shredder? It is soy based so if ingested, it won’t hurt bunny Also phonebooks without the front and back cover is excellent as well!
  
  I try not to look at Craigslist. It breaks my heart over the reasons why people are getting rid of their children

  What a cutie, I am too new to bunnies. I wanted one for 20 years and my husband finally bought me 1 for valentines day this year. Congrats on your new bunny…
