It’s May!!! A beautiful May 2nd here in New Brunswick! ![]()
What’s up with you all? Lots going on in the news over the weekend…
I am spending the week taking exams and writing a rather long paper. Blahhhhhhh. That is in fact what I should be doing right now instead of hanging out here on BB. ![]()
Nothing new has changed with me. I go see a neurologist on Wednesday to see what she has to say. And I’m still waiting for a position to open up at work so I can go back. Blah. Lolli’s still being her snuggley self. And I don’t know if it’s the oxbow pellets or if it’s cause her shedding has FINALLY slowed down, but she’s looking quite glossy. LOL
We had a scare last week as my grandma had a serious heart problem. It wasn’t a heart attack, but she passed out and her heart stopped. They got her stablized and took her right into surgery as she was already in the hospital for a partial hip replacement. She had a 80% blockage so they put a stint in and she’s doing much much better. The doctor said it wasn’t a heart attack cause when you have one, parts of your heart tissue dies and that didn’t happen with my grandma. They were having trouble getting her blood pressure stabilized after her hip surgery but her pulse and everything was all normal. The surgeon said it’s just one of those things where you don’t really know you have a problem until you have a problem. We are so thankful that she’s alright.
Last week of classes…then time for finals! Oh boy.
We’ve been getting really strange weather recently…it was in the 90’s late last week with crazy humidity, and it’s in the 50’s this morning! No idea what’s going on, lol.
Hello hello! It’s May, my wedding is officially Next Month!!!
I’ve got a math final today, yuck. I’ve also my last Studio Lighting class, and hopefully a Samson check up, although I may have to reschedule, I wasn’t thinking and scheduled it for 430, which is really close to crazy rush hour around here, and where it normally takes 5 minutes to get somewhere (home, for instance), it’ll take nearly an hour.
As for the news, I know we don’t talk politics in here but Pres. Obama made me laugh A LOT during his speech. Seth Meyers gave a pretty good roast as well.
I didn’t watch the Royal Wedding Live, but I did watch a couple recaps to see her dress
And WOW on her sisters dress!
Michelle, sorry to hear about your grandma! I’m glad it sounds like she’s going to be all right.
Nothing much going on here. Mondays are so boring because I don’t have any meetings …. I know meetings are usually boring too, but at least it gets me away from my desk and doing something, and then I’m more energized to work when I get back to my desk. On Mondays I feel like I just sit around and stare at the computer screen.
Yesterday we went for a little hike, then went to our favorite German place to sit in the beer garden and drink large beers with appetizers (potato pancakes, spatzle covered in cheese, and currywurst). Yum! Unfortunately I sprained my ankle while hiking – I rolled it hard a couple months ago so I knew it wasn’t as stable and I wondered if I would do it again on the hike. Oh well. It’s not nearly as bruised as the first time and feels ok (last time I couldn’t walk for two days).
The bunnies were cute this weekend and slept out in the living room during the day. I could tell it made Hannah nervous because we were walking around and doing things (usually she’s sleeping in the cage, which is more out of the way), but she stayed out there because Otto wanted to sleep there.
Oh! One more thing. I signed up for Ancestry.com the other day just to play around. I couldn’t get very far with most of my family (or DH’s) because they came for Europe only a few generations ago and I couldn’t find info on them there. However, I did trace one of my grandma’s back 14 generations! It’s pretty cool. Everybody way back in her family tree came from France originally (and a couple from Belgium) and settled in Quebec in the 1600s. A couple hundred years later they moved to northern MI and have lived there for years (that’s why my grandma lives now). I really didn’t expect to find some much info or to find that our family had been on the continent so long. I even found some old pictures and family crests that other people had uploaded.
I’m so sorry Michelle
My grandma had blockage also…
Elrohwen, you signed up for Ancestry?
I’m tempted but.. the money looks crazy
I would have to sign up for the world one, as i’ve got family everywhere
. The world covers the US also, right? Just need to make sure.
I work today from 12 til 8:30 pm ![]()
I am going to pick up the special royal wedding magazine before work, as long as the newpaper. Heh. I bought a 15 lb kettle ball from work yesterday. John told me he would show me exercises with it, but he advises I shouldn’t do it, because I live on the top floor of an apartment complex ![]()
It’s free for 14 days, so I’m only signed up until it’s not free, then I’ll cancel it. Haha. It is really expensive. I hope my family tree will still be there after I cancel my membership, but I might lose access to the documents and such. I’ll definitely save it in case it disappears.
The world membership does cover the US as well (that’s what I signed up for). Though honestly, it’s not been useful so far. My mom’s grandparents were all from Poland, but I can’t find out a darn thing about them. With some European family members I can find links to other people of the same names, but they’re all in French and German (and not the right people anyway since my relatives on that side were from Belgium, not France). I really didn’t find much interesting except the one grandma who has ties to Quebec for the past three hundred years – apparently those Canadians keep good records 😉
It’s definitely worth trying out the free sample and see if you can find anything cool.
Which magazine put out the royal wedding edition? I saw some at the grocery store on Sat, but there were the less good mags (no People or anything).
I have found relatives in North Carolina (My great grandpa is half cherokee and they all reside there now) and I know all of my other relatives are in Asia and Europe lol. I do look all mixed Asian, but I do have European ancestors
I just wonder, does everybody find information on their family on the site?
People magazine put out a magazine today, a 60 or 70 page spread on the wedding. I saw it being advertised at my check stand yesterday
Out May 2nd ![]()
I found that the hardest people to find where your closest relatives. It took me quite a while and some leaps of faith to find my grandma’s parents (she just wasn’t listed on any census with her maiden name and I wanted to figure it out without having to call her), but after I got back a couple generations it was easy. Everybody in the family seems to have had multiple spouses and 15 kids, so lots of other people on the site have these same people in their family trees. When I got back 5 or 6 generations, it was just a matter of finding them on other family trees and adding that information (like parents, kids, etc) to mine. I didn’t worry too much about siblings and things, just about how back I could go, so I wasn’t very thorough. Most times, it doesn’t let you see living people on the public family trees, so you wouldn’t necessarily be able to find a living relative or something unless you could find actual records in their database.
Like I said, I couldn’t find a darn thing on pretty much all of my relatives once they were in Europe, especially the ones that were only a few generations back. I can find what boat they came over on, where it took off from, where it landed, and what they put as their home country, but that was it. It’s worth checking though – I’m sure some countries have better records (and better access to them online) than others.
eta: It also helps to have an uncommon name! I imagine having a name like “John Smith” would make it tricky to get started. Pretty much all of the last names in my family are uncommon so it was easy to weed out who the right people were.
Have a lot of anger in me right now… I went to the barn last night to see Winnie and there were 4 new horses in the barn. The local rescue shelter was full and my barn volunteered to house them temporarily. Three of them are Tennessee Walking Horses which are very beautiful and quite rare around here…although you could never tell what breed they were supposed to be. They were skin and bones; I’ve never seen horses in such a horrible state. Apparently all they’ve done since they got there is eat hay non-stop. That just breaks my heart to see animals so severely neglected. I’m assuming whoever owned them will not be charged or anything; that happens way too often. The little baby is a year old and she’s so tiny she looks less than half that. There is a black one that I’m sure will be incredibly gorgeous when she gains weight. The other guy was a gigantic Belgian…he didn’t look as bad. I just don’t understand people…
I am so sorry about the horses! I just don’t understand either. But now they will be taken care of and will be healthy and happy again! ![]()
That’s so sad! I hope they are all fat and happy soon.
I’m glad the horses are in good hands now, I bet you won’t recognize them after a couple of weeks of good food and TLC.
Michelle, that was so lucky that your grandmother developed the problem while in the hospital, I’m glad she’s ok!
How’s the paper coming, KatieMonster?
Happy Wedding OneTwoThree!
Me? same ol, same ol, work, go home, clean house, PET BUNNIES!
I hope that the horses get fat and full
I’m currently watching “Fast Food Nation.”
Gag.
Brit, I love those movies (Fast Food Nation, Supersize Me, etc). Food Inc is another really good one you should check out (it’s available instantly through Netflix, if you have it).
Laura, I’ve seen Food Inc.. ugh o_o Fish.. eating corn?!?!?! My dad only buys wild cod or salmon for me, so it is okay.
I like meat, but not steaks.. I’m weird, I know
I’ve been more health concious and have given up fast food. I’ll eat subway, but that is about it. I have a ton of cookbooks in the apartment, sitting there, waiting for me to look at.
Good for you on eating healthier! I know from reading FB that you’re an exercise star too (especially compared to my lazy butt
)
Funny, I don’t like steak either! I don’t mind cut up steak in something (like pasta) but I’m more likely to order another kind of meat. I can’t even remember the last time I had a real steak – I don’t hate them, but I just never feel like having one. I did have a yummy burger for dinner last night though!
I don’t eat fast food either. The only time I do is if we’re driving somewhere, then I’ll have Wendy’s or Taco Bell. And I love Five Guys, but I rarely have it. If I’m going to eat out, I’d much rather have something from the local pizza or Chinese places! Mmmm ….
And I love looking through cookbooks! Which ones did you get? We should compare recipes.
Aw, poor horsies! I like the thought of taking people who mistreat animals, tying them to a tree and leaving them at the mercy of the bigger, meaner cousins of the animals that they abused… but that doesn’t really work with bunnies and horses does it? A wild horse would just be like, “meh.” And walk away. And you’d never even see the sneaky wild bunnies hiding in the bushes. I suppose you could cover them in fruit and sugar cubes or something and they might at least get some painful nibbles by accident…. Anyway, enough of that really weird thought experiment.
The paper is…. going I guess. I’m at about 8 out of 20 pages right now. Thanks kralspace!
Thanks Kral!
OMG I love steaks. I prefer them to other meats LOL. I’ve been eating more fast food lately, no particular reason why though. It used to be like a once every 3 months thing, now it;s more bi monthly. Need to cut that back….
And I hate, hate, hate fast food. I was never allowed to eat it as a kid so I don’t think I ever developed a taste for it. I do like a really good, high quality, rare steak. Nummy. I don’t eat them very often though. Sorry if I just grossed out the vegetarians!
Hahaha
A customer came through my line and said he is a ‘flexiterian.’ I laughed.
I’m around food all day, as I’m a checker. It gives me an opportunity to see people’s food habits and how I can improve on mine.. you won’t see me eating peppers though.. ugh o_O.
I’ve never been a fan of artichokes.. and it proved my point when I got poked by one after sliding it off of the scanner and into the grocery bag. ![]()
Haha. I love peppers!!! Not hot ones, but like red and green peppers, yum!
When I was little, my dad used to steam artichokes, then we’d peel off each sharp thing, dip it in mayo, and scrape off the “meat” of the leaf with our teeth, it was sooooo good.
I love peppers too! I’m not a fan of them when they’re raw, but I do like cooked bell peppers (and a little bit of the spicy varieties) too. I make “fajitas” a lot for dinner and it’s basically a lot of onion, pepper, and chicken, then we wrap it in a tortilla with condiments. I guess it’s really more like a burrito, but I call it fajitas anyway 😛
I’m with OneTwoThree – artichokes are yummy! I need to buy some. I like to cut the little sharp things off before cooking with scissors so I don’t have to deal with them stabbing me later.
Not sure why I’m not into steak, but I tend to go for pork over other meats (especially pork that’s been slow cooked!). DH isn’t a fan of steak either, so we never go to steak restaurants and I stay in my no-steak cycle. I actually did buy some nice steaks a couple years ago and cook them, but they were very thin and by the time I got a sear on they were over done 🙁 Still good, but it didn’t make me want to buy more steak.
I don’t mind ground beef though! Last night we made burgers and I topped mine with cheese, carmelized onions, and tomato. We make burgers the way our friend from college always did – mix in an egg, whatever seasonings you like (salt, pepper, etc), and then add the secret ingredient: crumbled cheese crackers! Dan always used Cheez-Its, but we have a lot of Goldfish around from my last job so we use those. You wouldn’t guess they were in there after cooking, but it definitely adds a great flavor that I can’t seem to get any other way.
KateMonster, what’s your paper on?
Steak. Is. Awesome. Rare, thrown on the BBQ… *drool*
I’m allergic to peppers, so keep em away from me! Last time I had one, my skin got so sensitive to touch that my clothes hurt, headache from hell, sweating, just plain miserable. No peppers are allowed near me now.
Rare steak ftw. I hate peppers too, lol. I LOOOOOOVE all sorts of mushrooms though.
mmm mushrooms. sauteed in garlic… *drool*
I looove to make stuffed red bell peppers with rice and pine nuts and dried cherries or cranberries. Sometimes I add ground lamb. Nom nom nom nom. I always make it with red instead of the more tradition green bell peppers because I don’t really like the green ones. This conversation is making me hungry!
Elrohwen, let’s see if I can make my topic make sense in 50 words or less! I’m writing about the issue, and overlap of issues, regarding race and gender in American Islam. My argument is that American society and some Muslims in America sees the normative form of American Islam as male, Arab or South Asian, and first generation immigrant. I’m problemetizing it by looking at the actions of women (particularly second and third generation younger women) pushing their voices and demands into public spaces and also examining African American Muslims who make up around a third of American Muslims and the ways in which they fit into and alter the culture of American immigrant Muslim communities in order to deconstruct this image and argue that women’s discourse is on its way to creating a uniquely American Islamic feminism. I hope that made some sort of sense. I’m not quite sure that this paper is making any sense!
that’s it. After reading those last posts, I’m shutting down the computer and heading home where I think there is a frozen steak and a fresh porterbella (sp) mushroom in the fridge. The Power of Suggestion is making me drool all over the keyboard here. 😉
I can’t eat mushrooms!! When I was little, I used to eat those small salad mushrooms like they were candy, then I went outside at the neighbors house and ate a poisonous one! Ever since I can’t stomach the thought of them lol!
May is finally going to be an exciting month for me! I’m leaving to Vegas for the weekend, and the buns will be dutifully spoiled and watched by their granny =P For those who don’t know, there’s a boxing match between Pacquiao and Mosley, and Pacquiao has basically been undefeated. I hardly go to Vegas, but last time I went during fight week it was so much fun. Pacquiao winning= best time to be an Asian and celebrate hahahaha.
and, this is my last hoorah trip of the year because once I get back I’ll be starting my internship on top of working full time! so I will be pretty busy, and stressed out, but I am so excited about this internship and all the projects I’ll be working on.
@Brittany and all the other folks talking about food…. I love food. hahaha. I’m not a health nut but over the years I’ve definitely watched what I put in my body, and after watching food inc and all these other documentaries, I prefer to make my own food and keep it all natural as most as I can. be careful with subway, yes the sandwiches are low fat, but the meat is still processed with all sorts of chemicals and preservatives and it’s SUPER high in sodium [for those who have to be conscious about that].
my boyfriend is actually a dialysis patient [he’s only 23, he was born with kidney problems] and fun fact: he used to be really, really fat lol. like his heaviest was 230, and he’s only 5’6″. now he’s down to 155 and he did all through diet and exercise, so I’ve definitely taken note from him. since he’s a kidney patient he has to monitor his sodium, so of course I watch what I cook and buy too now, and it’s surprising how much sodium is in some “healthy” products. makes sense, in order for it to be low fat and still have flavor they need to add SOMETHING. so, just be careful and make sure you look at the labels of what you buy
my general rule of thumb is, if it has words that are too hard to pronounce, leave it and make it yourself.
@Kate your paper sounds REALLY interesting! if you need a proofreader I’m a pretty good writer. and plus I’m kind of curious to read it =]
My daughter is 7 years old and we are taking her to Disneyworld at the end of the month. My husband has never been either. I went when I was 2 and 4 years old so I don’t remember very much at all about the place. I think my husband is more excited than my daughter is.
Thats so exciting Brit!!We’re actually honeymooning in DW, but not until november sometime.
Oh yes, angie-la
I do read labels and get grossed out at words that are disgused .. but are really corn CORN AND MORE CORN!!! I don’t think corn belongs in french fries.. there are so many different names for corn that is hidden in food – like xanthan gum o_O
I’m having a really hard time finding protein powder that does not have corn in it.. it is insane how much corn is in food that is NOT corn o_O
Chacha and I are currently being lazy. Tomorrow is my Friday at work, thank goodness.
Disneyworld!!! Lucky!!! I went a few years ago with my whole family and it was a blast!!! It was my Mom’s Christmas gift to everyone that year. I had gone when I was 10 but it’s changed a lot since then. Can’t wait till I get to go back. It’s so great because everything is just as fun for the adults as it is for the 6 year old kids, it’s very ingenious.
LoveChacha- What’s your beef with corn? ![]()
Wish us luck, I’m taking Bindi to the vet today to get his teeth checked. I really hope that there is nothing wrong.
@Kate your paper sounds REALLY interesting! if you need a proofreader I’m a pretty good writer. and plus I’m kind of curious to read it =]
Ditto that. Ok, well ditto the 1st and last sentence. lol Anyway, awesome topic!
Vibes for (((Bindi))). LPT, your vet is back?
KM, your paper sounds really interesting! I think it’s such an important issue now too
I’ve never been to Disney World! But pretty much everyone I know has and said that was a blast.
Thanks for the kind words on my paper topic! I’ve already had to turn it in so it doesn’t need any editing (well, it probably does I had to rush it a bit and I’m sure it’s more than a little disjointed…) but if anyone has an interest in reading it or in some academicy books, memoirs, etc on the topic feel free to pm me and I’ll forward things along. I actually definitely recommend the novel the girl in the tangerine scarf to anyone! It was lovely novel even if you aren’t specifically interested in American Muslim women. I always like to push women written novels with strong heroines when I can. ![]()
My little Otto-buddy made it onto Disapproving Rabbits today! I love the caption.
http://www.disapprovingrabbits.com/2011/05/otto.html
Now I have to take a disapproving picture of Hannah. She’s so hard though because
(a) As soon as I try to take a picture she rushes the camera and sticks her nose right in the lense
(b) She almost never looks disapproving. As DH said, “Usually she looks like she’s going to pee her pants.”
Her eyes are just so wide and curious all the time that it’s hard for her to look angry or annoyed.
Oh, I almost forgot. DH is designing this thing at work (called a testmask – don’t ask, even I hardly know what it is … haha) and has to pick a name for it and he decided on Otto! We’re trying to come up with an acronym that Otto could stand for (I think Optimized Testmask for Trench Only is going to be the winner – boring, I know). On his presentation about the new testmask he’s going to include a slide with famous Ottos – Otto the bunny, Otto von Bismarck, Otto the Orange (Syracuse’s mascot) and Otto the Bus Driver from the Simpsons. lol Otto will be famous at work!
I wish I got to name something – some of the names people pick are hilarious. There were a lot of Harry Potter themed names a while back, so in meetings we’ll talk about Dobby or Hogwarts or Hedwig.
It is my Friday… my thighs hurt for some reason. Maybe I was standing at the register weird last night.. I don’t know o_O
My dad goes in for surgery tomorrow. He will be in recovery for a few hours and they will release him. It is for his foot spur.
Laura, I’m glad that Otto made DR! he looks so small ![]()
Good luck to your dad!! How soon after the surgery will he be able to walk and get around again? I’m not sure how serious surgery on a foot spur is.
Otto does look small! He was 10 months in those pics, but he has been full weight (4lbs) for months. I think it probably has to do with the lens my dad had on his camera and the angle he took the photos at.
Lol @ his caption! I love it.
Jersey, I thought the caption was awesome too! I sent both pics and assumed she’s post only one, but I like how she worked them both in.
It’s especially funn to me because Otto doesn’t listen to a thing we say. I’d swear he was deaf (but I know better) because you can yell in his face and he won’t be phased. He’s just completely unconcerned with the crap coming out of our mouths. Haha
I BOUGHT MY FIRST BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!! im soooooo exited! he is a black american rabbit, i got him from a shelter. i can take him home when my family issues finally blow over but i cant wait! the day that i had to go home after deciding on my boy bunny (named him Nova) i shed ONE tear because i felt like i was failing him by leaving him there and we had bonded quite a bit in the day we were together.
Nova actually noticed my mood and he stretched up to put his feet on my sholder and breathed his warm short breaths in my ear and tickled my neck with his whiskers, it made me laugh so hard and it made my day when he looked up at me and i swear if he could talk he would have said “I know how you feel, i understand. i have waited so long for someone like you and i know you will come back for me. i trust you. i love you” i gave him a hug and he let me wipe my tear on his silky sholder blade.
i get to see him this weekend when i go back to the shelter to put some of her pets on petfinder (search Christines Critter Cafe thats the place i got him. there are only a few critters up right now but there will be more)
i didnt know bunnys were this tuned in to your feelings do they always do this or is it just my beautiful bunny? if so i wanna hear about it i could use a heartwarming story or two right now :/
Rabbits do sense their human’s feelings.
My rabbit flopped near me when I was crying over my mother’s passing.
A classmate of mine found a hurt bunny on the side of the road last night. I’m not sure yet if it’s a wild bunny or a domesticated bunny or if it’s a baby or an adult. It would be about that time that idiots start ‘freeing’ their Easter bunnies
but there are tons of cotton tails here right now, I saw five yesterday so a wild bunny would not be very surprising either. I only talk to her on fb unfortunately but I referred her to a wildlife rehabber if it’s wild and gave her food tips for baby and adult domesticated bunnies. She’s a serious animal lover, although not experienced with bunnies, so I know she’ll do right by the little bunny. But it makes me sad to know that there’s a sad, hurt bunny
and I’m supposed to be studying for an exam right but all I’m doing is obsessively waiting for her to post updates. ![]()
My dad is home from his foot surgery.. and he asked his girlfriend to drive him to a restaurant and made a scene at my work LOL. I guess his gf said he was driving around one of those motorized scooters and driving around like a mad man. And he was talking to everyone at the self check out.. and he realized that he did not have his ID… o_O and he got really upset.
He forgot that he had given it to me at the hospital cos I needed to pick up his pain medications at the pharmacy xD
He is okay, watching movies with his girlfriend at the apartment. he is watching the parody of 300 and is laughing like a maniac xD the director of the grocery store i work at (i’ve only been here 3 weeks.. only 3 weeks) says she can tell i am working by my laugh ._. i think i may get my loud, distinct laughter from my dad.
I’m with John now. He is home from college. We went to home depot . he was hoping to catch the HR person there for a job, but they weren’t there. i bought a pot and a bottom cover and italian parsley seeds
i am having a green thumb this year
John joked and said his mom has been having a black thumb and even killed a plastic plant o_O
Aersosmithgrl, buns are very intuitive. I got home the other day from a 14 hr session at the oil painting studio and collapsed on the floor. I was frustrated because my painting wasn’t coming out right and it took a long time to make any progress. Huckleberry raced up to me and gave me tons of kisses all over my arms, neck and face. She “cleaned” my eyes and ears for me and then curled up beside me with her head on my shoulder and tooth purred.
Chacha, so happy your dad is doing well!
Elrohwen, LOVE the BRs pics, great caption!!!!!
I have convinced a friend to adopt a bunny!!! She wanted a dog but when she met Huckles, and found out her landlord only allows “small caged animals” she is going to push that rule to its limits and get a rabbit. We have found a couple of them at a shelter about an hour away. She says it will probably be a month or so to get things pulled together. I cant wait to go with her to pick out her new rabbit and give someone a forever home!!!!

In looking for my own apartment for the fall, most of the places I’ve asked consider rabbits to be full pets too, just like cats and dogs. It’s great to hear and not so great at the same time, lol.
How come?
I had dogs living below and diagonally of me and wow.. the owner really sucked. She moved out, and I’m happy to not see poop on the grass and barking while I walk up the apartment stairs.
My apartment actually requires a pet rent for dogs and cats. I was told that since I have a ‘caged animal,’ there is no need for that rent.
*evil laugh*
Someone owns the apartment.. and it sure isn’t my dad or myself..
I’m happy to hear that people are considering rabbits as equivalent to dogs and cats because it means that public perception of house rabbits are changing. Actually, some of the places I talked to said that rabbits count as “pets” that need to be on the lease, while mice, rats, and fish don’t. But as much as I’m glad that people are getting the idea about rabbits, this means I’ll have to pay a pet deposit/pet rent…boo
.
I think fish should be on the deposit for places, if they are large tanks. Well, here they are in my complex! Large tanks = a lot of $ to fix floors and walls if they flood or break ![]()
Someone owns the apartment.. and it sure isn’t my dad or myself..
Haha! And you guys pay the rent…They sure make suckers of us all!!!! ![]()
I agree Chacha, I think that a rabbit makes less mess than a dog but I think that house rabbits are very similar to cats in that they use a litter box and stay indoors… actually Huckleberry is much cleaner than my cats ever were but we wont get into that.
I doubt she is going to tell her landlord that it is a rabbit, just that she has an animal in a cage. I think she I have talked her into building a cage with those DIC? NIC? CIS? Idk, 3-letters-I cant-remember cubes.
I went and renewed the lease today for Huckleberry’s apartment 😉 My little diva decided to thank me by eating my book bag while I was gone.
Oh well, its the last day of finals week so I wont need it again for another 3 months!!!!!
However, this day has been awful. I went to the library to study but it was too noisy and the printers were all way too busy so I came home, took a nap, tried to print my notes here but then MY PRINTER ran out of ink and paper. GRRR!!!!
When I was looking at apartments last month some of the places I looked at allowed cats but not rabbits, some allowed rabbits as caged animals with no pet deposit, and some considered rabbits the same a cat or dog. It was quite a range of attitudes.
When we moved in the lease said “no pets”. After a couple years, I really wanted a rabbit and I asked the landlord. He took a week or two to decide, but eventually said I could get one (I pay $25 extra per month, but he hasn’t raised our rent in 4 years so I don’t mind too much). Once my landlord came over to fix something and I was home, so Otto was out in the middle of the dining room. lol. Uh, so much for caged pets! I think he realized they weren’t really “caged” pets when he saw the ridiculously large cage Otto had.
When I wanted to get Hannah I made sure to ask him again (our lease said “1 rabbit” specifically) and he immediately said no problem.
I wonder what will happen when we’re ready to move out and he needs to show the place – is he still going to say no pets? Then people will walk in to our bunny paradise and wonder how it can be a no pet apartment. Haha
Elrohwen, you may have to do what Bunnietown does and throw a tablecloth over the condos…….speaking on bt, has anyone heard from her lately?
My guys have a 4’x8′ pen with pet store cage attached. There’s really no hiding it! It also blocks access to the sliding door (unless you suck in your stomach and ease your way around it) so I have a feeling we’ll need to move it somehow.
I could put them in just a 4’x4′ xpen, which would be easier to manage, but every time I’ve done that Hannah gets anxious and destroys everything and tortures Otto. Haha.
I get upset about pet policies-in hotels or rentals. And it seems no matter where I’ve stayed or rented people abuse it. We were at a good hotel in Canmore this winter (like a few rooms and kitchen-nice but nothing crazy fancy)-and my dog was attacked by an offleash dog on hotel property. And this summer same thing-in a very dumpy hotel in Kamloops. It’s like-gawd keep this up and we’ll never be able to take our dogs anywhere!!
Though I have to say-I had a wee…scratch that…mediocre…umn…bit of ‘rabbit damage’ in both the apartments I rented and got my deposit back in full. So really I think that says how much damage people with no pets make!
Oh and touche parents, touche. We moved into our apartment together and had to get one room repeatedly shampooed and cleaned becasue it smelled like diapers. Like…did they just store dirty diapers in there?? I think people will be bad people, bad pet parents, bad parents period…and they make it hard for the rest of us who are responsible ![]()
/ end rant ![]()
heheh
OT-it’s warming up, getting the tent trailer ready this weekend for May long weekend camping YEAH!! So excited! And gearing up for summer holidays
And further OT-anyone know a good site for hairstyle how tos? I’m dying ….I know the style when I see it…it’s like big crimps wavy thing…can’t find it on google. Can’t find a how to on youtube…*sigh* Any one know what I mean?
BunnieTown???? Hello???

That reminds me of the paper that is taped to my work station
”Ergonomics: How to properly grab items.”
Peppy looks brown!
Love the pic of Peppy! I’m totally going to save that and use it for an emoticon at work (especially because I’ve been trying to improve the ergonomics of my desk situation for a couple weeks now)
I just had to weigh in on the pet policy thing. I’m currently looking for a new apartment or rental home and have gotten such a wide range of responses when I ask about rabbits from “Rabbits are not pets, they’re livestock and not allowed” to having them including in the basic pet policy like dogs or cats.
The place I’m applying to doesn’t consider rabbits pets but will allow me to have her, I just don’t have to pay the pet fees. As much as I’m glad to not have to pay extra, I also wish they were considered pets…cause let’s face it, she’ll own the apartment within the first few days. ![]()
The worst response I ever received was “Rabbits are not pets and not allowed. But if you decided to change your situation, we’d be glad to accept your application.”
I was so furious and appalled! You did not just allude to me getting rid of my baby just for an apartment!
I am not and never will be that desperate ![]()
Oh well, we found a great place so fingers crossed we get approved! Oreo’s looking forward to having a whole apartment to reign over ![]()
Lani – that’s ridiculous!! I’d definitely have something to say in response if somebody told me something like that.
Elrohwen – feel free to take the photo! Peppy is proud to be an emoti-bun
.
Lani.. that is crazy!!!! I read about the apartments that I currently live in, that exotic pets aren’t allowed, but when my dad and I stopped by, they said that rabbits are fine. My neighbor has 2 rabbits. Cats and dogs have to pay a monthly rent, but not rabbits because they are ‘caged animals.’ I laugh at this everytime.
When are you and Oreo moving? You must post pictures of her in the new place! I bet she’ll chin everything!
Chacha hated the apartment at first.. now she is okay with it. It is a huge downsize from her former living room area, but.. she has a LOT of room to roam around. She can even go visit her grandpa in his room (he leaves his door open a lot when he is at home), but doesn’t ![]()
Lol, Peppy! Adorable pic!!! ![]()
Lani, I emailed a bunch of places before I went to Illinios to find my apartment (it was a whirlwind tour, 15 apartments in one day!!) so that I could find out if they allowed rabbits. One place emailed me back (two weeks later after I had already gone to and left Illinios, lol) and said something to the effect of “We do not allow rabbits, but if you are able to rehome them, we’d be happy to show you an apartment.” I just replied briefly, because my mother always told me if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. I think I said something like “my beloved pets aren’t really negotiable and I signed a lease a week ago elsewhere.” The place I ultimately signed said that if they are mostly caged I don’t have to pay a pet deposit but if they’re out then I do… I admit, I lied. They will be caged whenever I’m not home so hopefully I won’t get caught. lol, in my experience though, maintanence people don’t really care or aren’t informed so much about that sort of thing and probably wouldn’t say anything.
Ooo, just saw little Blu bunny on DR today! He’s such a cutie.
On apartments – I’m curious to see if we get our whole deposit back. Hannah has taken some chunks out of the corner of the wall, but they’re hardly noticeable. I’m more worried about the scuff marks on the walls (like in the basement where we take off our shoes) and things like that. I figure that we’ve lived there for 4 years, so our landlord would have to re-paint and clean carpets anyway. He’s a nice guy and we’ve been good tenants, so I don’t think he’ll make us pay anything, but you never know. At least there hasn’t been any rabbit damage except for that wall!
I’m excited to move to my own house and be able to have a dog! We looked at a new one last night that we really liked. There was actually a bunny out on the patio in a hutch 🙁 Poor bun. At least it was a beautiful day so I didn’t feel too bad for him, and he did have a pile of veggies. He was very cute – looked like a vienna marked bun because his eyes were blue-grey and he had dutch-like markings, but very unusual ones. Could’ve been a dutch mix I guess. If it had been raining out, I would’ve had to try hard not to steal him!
Elrohwen, I saw your darling Otto on DR the other day…he’s so adorable! Blu has been trying to get on DR for some time now…I sent in a few pics a few months ago and nothing came of it..this one I sent in last night and he finally made the cut! Good luck on the house hunting…we just went through that this year too!
LoveChaCha, if we get approved for the apartment that we want, we’ll be moving in the middle/end of June. I’m sure when we get around to it that I’ll have a whole thread about the best way to move her since it might take some time for the place to be all set up and bun proofed again. But I will definitely take pictures. She already loves to chin and re-chin everything in her bedroom every few days so I can only imagine how she’ll be in a whole apartment!
Something like “This is mine…and this…and this too! Mine! Mine! Mine!” Silly girl.
Kate Monster, I basically gave a similar response even though I definitely had some choice words that I would’ve liked to say instead. ![]()
Lani, good luck on the apartment!
Rabbits chinning things is my favorite! Hannah will chin your finger if you point it right at her nose. Lol. Otto chins things, but he learned it from Hannah and I’m not sure he even knows why he’s doing it (he only does it on one specific box).
Kate’s favorite things to chin are the supplies for our tortoise (nothing open or dangerous). It’s like, muwahahaha, silly tortoise, this is mine now!
Bwahahah!
Chacha chinned my finger for the first time. It was so soft and so cute
But I think she had some evil thoughts while doing it ![]()
Clearly she was claiming you as her human! lol
Hannah chins anything and everything and it makes me laugh every single time she does it.
Bindi likes to chin fingers after he takes a drink…a nice wet chinning.
I’ve never had one of those before ![]()
Regarding apartment hunting etc. – I have a quick question for popular opinion.
My boyfriend is looking for a place to move into after he graduates, and the bunnies will be living with him (I’ll miss them so much
). At one of the complexes, the guy showing the apartment said “if I were you, I wouldn’t even tell them that you have pets…rabbits will probably be okay”. As tempting as that sounds, I’m guessing this is a bad idea? It’s off-the-record advice that isn’t going on paper or anything, so it would be easy enough to get in trouble farther down the line for pet violations. We really like the complex otherwise, and it’s really tempting to get the bunnies in for free, but should we go by the rules anyways just to be safe? Or is there another way?
I wouldn’t risk it. My advice would be to not only let them know that you have bunnies and pay whatever deposit that might be required, but also to make certain that they are written in on your lease as often leases aren’t really specific for bunnies. Things can happen, an indulgent landlord willing to look the other way might be replaced or some such and the new person might decide to enforce the lease to the letter and then your boyfriend is stuck with either rehoming the bunnies or breaking his lease with whatever penalties and rehoming himself. And what if the apartment sprays for pesticides and you’d need to explain why they couldn’t, or some emergency maintanence comes up, or when he’s moving out and they start showing the apartment. All of those things could bring bunnies to the attention of someone in the main office who could choose to make a stink about it. That’s my two cents.
However, if they say that caged bunnies don’t require a pet deposit but free range ones do, I think that you’re safe fudging on that, so long as you have a cage or pen in the apartment! But still have that put in your lease.
I agree with Kate Monster. I think sneaking the bunnies into the apartment is a bad idea. It would probably be better to have the landlord know and write them in as well as agreements on damages and such, that way if something happens, you have them written in the lease.
When I was apartment searching for next school year, it was pretty frustrating because I would ask people if bunnies are allowed and they would usually say no. I did find a place though that would take animals and all of them (bunnies and bird) are written in the lease and each of us that owned animals paid $100 pet deposit. The place I’m currently at doesn’t require a deposit because they’re caged. I think the management might get a nasty surprise on what “cage animals” can do judging on the damage that my housemate’s hamster and bunny did to the carpet and walls in her room.
I hope it goes okay. Mine did fairly minimal damage, they scratched a bit of paint off of the molding in one area, but I think I can probably cover it up with a bit of paint.
Thanks for the input! I agree that it probably wouldn’t be a good idea, tempting as it sounds. I was actually calling around to find an apartment for myself just now, and somebody told me that rabbits aren’t allowed as pets under the Texas Apartment Association rules, which only officially allow cats and dogs…what?? I understand not wanting bunnies as a private policy, but I’m *pretty* sure that there’s no association rules against rabbits
.
Yeah thats weird they would say that.
I just looked it up for the heck of it, and everything says “animal” ![]()
What. That’s so weird and unfair! I know of one place that allowed most pets over here that I was considering for my 2nd year. The landlady said that pets were okay EXCEPT rabbits. (This was before I knew anything about rabbits.) Out of curiosity I asked why. Her eyes narrowed and her voice got tight as she spoke of the evils of rabbits. “They’re smelly, they’re unhygienic, and they chew on everything!” Apparently she had a tenant that had a bunny and left it in the most horrible conditions and never potty trained it or anything and she ended up having to sue the tenant in court for all the damages.
Hm, I just thought just now that maybe Texas sees bunnies more as “livestock” rather than pets? That sounds pretty silly though, if that were the reason why they wouldn’t want rabbits in apartments.
Ok- I’m a terrible tenant. I have two rabbits living with me without my landlord’s consent and I had them AND hamsters at my old apartment which absolutely did not allow pets. Luckily, everything has been fine. BUT, it can be the most stressful situation when something needs to be repaired and you have a pet your landlord doesn’t know about it and you have to hide them or take them to a friend’s place.
I did weigh my options and at the end of the day, my landlord would give me a $200 fine only. Eviction was never brought up, so I figured if I was caught, I’d pay the fine and end up keeping the pets. They are not going to enter my apartment everyday to look and make sure I don’t have pets, soooo…..
I would say look at your lease and consider the consequences. If my lease said eviction, I wouldn’t have the bunnies or hamsters.
Living in a place that does not allow pets is a nightmare. Not that I would know personally ![]()
You can’t take your buns outside for fear a neighbor might see them. Transporting them to a vet gets very creative. You spend your time hoping that the windows are closed enough that no one can see in. You hope that anyone that stops by and sees your sqeeeuable friend doesn’t say out loud “Hey can I see the bunny!” when your around a neighbor. You get paranoid FAST!!!!
And then there’s the landlord… the maintenance men… the off chance that they come in to check a fire alarm or something and you have left the hairbrush full of pet fur out and pictures of you in the apartment with your buns on the walls.
I wouldn’t recommend it….
The worst response I ever received was “Rabbits are not pets and not allowed. But if you decided to change your situation, we’d be glad to accept your application.” I was so furious and appalled! @ Lani-the same thing but almost worse happened to me. Dave and I chose an apartment, they said they took rabbits. When we moved in we went down to sign everything, get laundry card, put down pet deposit. They told me (Same lady!!) they didn’t take rabbit and never had and Quote/Unquote “get rid of the rabbit”
Yeah-jaw hit the floor steam out of my ears. I said ok and bolted.
I called lawyers.
Two lawyers told me I could either sue them, or hide the rabbit and confront if they found out I had one. So we left it at that, pain in the butt because I’d hoped to not hide my bunny-and stressful!! But it worked out.

Good for you for calling lawyers, that is ridiculous! I just don’t know where people get the audacity to suggest you “get rid” of a pet. If I was moving in and had a 2 yr old baby instead of a 2 yr old rabbit, would they tell me to “get rid” of the baby?!
Cause I can promise that my rabbit is infintely quieter than a baby (though probabaly more dramatic) ![]()
Now if only more people saw pets as part of the family and not disposable “items”…

Maybe it is because rabbits are considered exotic pets. In some areas, they may still be considered as farm animals or
feed. It could because they are traditionally thought to breed to insane amounts. I think that even though we think of rabbits as pets just like a cat or dog, there is still a vast majority of people that see them as smelly, diseased, breeding animals housed in messy out-door cages. Few people think of rabbits as a litter trained, quite, clean animal that provides a great deal of love an affection. Its a shame too because in my experience, despite the fact that Huckles destroyed our carpet, she has been less destructive to the property than any dog I have ever had. She smells so much better than any cat I have ever had. She is much better about using her box than a cat and doesn’t leave mountains of poo for the neighbors to step on! Rabbits make great apartment pets!!!
Sadly, we have a lot of work to do to change the public opinion.
It really isn’t too bad hiding a bunny from a landlord. I’ve been doing it since February with no problems. We’re in a house, though, not an apartment, so it might be more stressful in an apartment where there’s commonly people coming in to check or fix things.
If you’re keeping a bunny hidden, first of all, don’t put them in an area that people would see as soon as they enter the apartment. Put them in a storage area or a corner of a bedroom – somewhere that nobody would immediately think to look. Obviously, don’t let them have free run unless you’re 100% certain that nobody you don’t trust will be coming in. It’s also probably not the best idea to put custom-made bunny figurines or framed bunny photos by the front door.
Also, be very careful with where you keep and dispose of dirty litter and food bags; if you have nosy neighbors/landlords, you might not want to keep them in your normal trash can.
LMBO at how many of us are hiding buns. They’re worth it!!!!
Just saw Thor last night. My eyes and neck hurt from sitting in the front row (ooops…we didn’t realize it was $4.00 night and showed up late). Was worth it though. Hope my boyfriend didn’t see me drooling over Thor and Loki. ![]()
I’m currently technically hiding bunnies. I had the weirdest experience when I decided to get them, I called the leasing office to ask and I got three different answers! From a flat no, to ‘sure, we’ll add them to the lease’ to ‘only caged ones’. So instead of paying extra money for the few months I had left here or going in to say that I have rabbits and having someone say that I’m not allowed, I am hiding them. It’s a bit stressful and definitely the last time I’m doing it. I’m not all that worried about them finding out, the maintanence people have been in and they really don’t care. So long as I’m not doing something dangerous and likely to burn the entire complex down, it’s no skin of their nose if a tenant is bending the rules. But I knew that they were pretty nice about it before hand. I also had a tenant/student/employee tell me that she has a couple of turtles that also aren’t allowed, so if she feels comfortable with them looking the other way, I think I can be. Plus when the end of the lease comes up, the office doesn’t actually show the apartment in question, they show a model, so I don’t have to worry about actual leasing agents who might care coming in my apartment. And I doubt that any of my neighbors actually know that rabbits aren’t allowed, the lease is very vague on allowed pets so unless they’d specifically asked, I doubt that they’d know if they saw or heard about bunnies. So for a short time with the right situation it’s not terrible, but I wouldn’t do it again unless I absolutely had to.
Sadly, when it comes to pets less common than cats or dogs, the behavior of previous tenants sometimes makes the policy. Cats and dogs are so common that one or two bad ones get dismissed as being not the norm because you have lots of experience with others. Reptiles aren’t actually allowed here either (I’m also sneakily owning a tortoise, lol) because apparently multiple previous tenants have moved out and left snakes in their apartments. I’m sure that experiences with rabbit owners before spaying and neutering became common practice have left more than a few landlords wary about rabbits. Of course the reality is that a rabbit is probably less destructive than some cats and dogs, but familiarity breeds tolerance I think. If you’ve only had one tenant with a rabbit and the rabbit sprayed all over and ate the walls because s/he was a hormonal mess, you might have a low opinion of rabbits as pets in your apartments.
LPT: My boyfriend is pretty excited about Thor, I’m ambivalent, but I’m glad that at least the eye candy is worthwhile! Personally the norse mythology based story I’m hoping that someone will someday make into a movie is The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul.
In college I had a pair of gerbils. We technically weren’t allowed pets, but the guy downstairs had a black lab puppy, so either the landlord looked the other way, or she had bigger things (ie a large barking dog) to deal with. If I knew people were coming over I would put their cage in my closet. But gerbils really are caged pets, so she probably knew and just didn’t care.
I agree that bunnies are typically less destructive than dogs (or maybe we’re just more inclined to bunny proof things, while most people don’t dog proof their house) and less smelly than cats.
Well, I think if you looked at the situation of hiding a pet from a landlord as a landlord, you might see it from a landlord’s point of view. The cost for replacing carpet and repairing damages from pets (and quite frankly people) can really add up if that tenant doesn’t take care of the property like it was their own.
Some people have allergies to animals and smoke and stuff like that and unless you completely tear out the carpet the next tenant may complain, etc…
I think it’s always best to be truthful and to make sure that if you are going to get a pet it’s allowed and you pay the pet deposit if required. There should be no reason to live in fear if you are doing the right thing. And why put your animals at risk of being evicted too and the stress of looking for a new place.
My allergies are acting up ![]()
Mine have been kind of annoying too. I get allergy shots, which helps a TON, but I can tell I’m stuffier than usual. I should use my neti pot more, but I always forget or am too lazy. It does help, though immediately after using it I tend to feel worse.
I noticed this fell back a couple pages and I wanted to bump it up!
How’s everybody’s Monday going?
Ugh. Don’t ask. ![]()
Oh no! 🙁 At least there are no more Mondays this week.
How’s the job situation going?
Try a Off-brand Halls plain cough drop, that has eucalyptus. I have crazy mad allergies, and those help for some crazy reason ![]()
Chacha was zooming in and out of my room this morning. When she came back into my room, she would stomp at me… like “WAKE UP AND GIVE ME MY PELLETS!” type of stomp o_O
I made some treat bags yesterday for the shelter bunnies (and the guinea pig). I used paper bags and put orchard grass, organic flower petals, apple twigs and papaya and tied it up. It was so nice to see the bunnies enjoying them.
A few of them didn’t know what to do with it though. My favorite, Rex, was too busy renovating his cardboard box to notice the treat bag. He reminds me sooo much of Storm. I want him!!!!
The shelter is having an Adopt-A-Thon this Saturday along with a BBQ and bake sale. People will be able to fill out an application and be approved on the spot so they can bring their pet home with them the same day so hopefully some of the rabbits will find wonderful homes. No rabbits have been adopted since I started volunteering in March.
They have so many kittens too, it just breaks my heart. I would love to be there as a volunteer to talk to people about rabbits as pets but I had already signed up to help out the local cat rescue that day (canvassing the liquor store for $). We made a lot of money last year there. I might bake some stuff for the SPCA though and/or make some cat toys for them to sell.
Uh oh… There’s a tornado in a county near us, and it’s heading straight towards our town. ![]()
Oh goodness, FluffyBunny! How scary! I hope you guys stay safe and that the tornado misses your town.
FluffyBunny? Did it miss you??? ![]()
The thought of tornadoes scares the pants off me. We sometimes get warnings of possible tornadoes during summer thunderstorm (I rush all my bumbas to the basement) and I’ve heard of a few small ones on the outskirts but none that does much damage. (Knocking on wood)….
So does anyone think the world is going to end tomorrow or what?
Oh yes. It shall end tomorrow. *rolls eyes* The same guy predicting it said the ‘Rapture” was supposed to happen in 1994.
The fact he has so many people thinking it is true is… sad.
I’ll be at work when it happens. Maybe food will fly off the shelves and everyone can have free food! *rollseyes*
I read an article on Yahoo this morning that I thought was horrible. There is a group of atheists in the states that started a “Rapture” pet rescue. You pay them to take your pet when you ascend to Heaven and they will care for it as their own. 200 and some people have already paid them…
That should be illegal >.<
I’m not sure what to… think of this… 😡 …
The contract is for like 10 years or something so it says if May 21 is a no-go then it’s still usable if the world ends in 2012.
2012.. *rolleyes*
I’m off to work in 20 minutes. I close tonight.. which is .. 11 pm ![]()
I have been avoiding doing volunteer shifts at the humane society lately. There have been so many gang related shootings in NE Portland thta its a scary thought, driving there on my own. Even in full daylight, some of the shootings have happened at 4 pm. ![]()
That is scary! And awful. ![]()
It is scary Monkey
I hate gangs.. *insert angry face here*
I asked John if he could take me to Uwajimaya for my birthday. It is a huge Japanese grocer with a bookstore, and lots and lots of household items and such! I want to eat some fruit tarts! Dessert and fruit put together, haha
My dad bought home some mandarin orange vodka home from work. It is eco friendly. He said he is going to get me fruity mix vodka in mini sizes! John and I like fruity mixes ![]()
My friend, a former coworker at the juice bar, might be getting a rabbit. She is going to meet the bunny at the foster home tomorrow and see how it goes. she will make a decision about it. If she does go with the rabbit, she would like for me to help her rabbit proof. I have offered her to come to the site, and will give her a link to HRS website. She is totally into reading about rabbits
I think i’ll try taking a different route tot eh OHS its still in the same area, but avoiding one of the bad streets. I’ll just drive fast
I have some mandarin vodka! It is sooooo tasty. I have blueberry and raspberry too
Mix em together, add sprite… mmmmmm

Have you tried whipped cream vodka? I mixed it with some orange juice and 7up… Heavenly. I see a downward spiral in my future…
Got an email today, looks liek I may be going on another Bunderground trip to northern california ![]()
I’ll stick with my wine (and occasional tequila drink) and leave your flavored vodkas 😛 Though I tried my friend’s whipped vodka + ginger ale (I think that’s what it was … she also did one with root beer) and it was awesome! Tasted like dessert.
Beer makes me gag. I don’t know how the taste is acquired.. or if it isn’t LOL
Tate, I’ll ask my dad about that flavor!
My dad got me a dragon fruit flavor.. what is dragon fruit? O_O
I got some soft cookie oreos from the japanese grocer.. and the flavor is.. GREEN TEA O_O It is SOOOOOOOOOOO yyummmy! It is really low in sugar, (5g per one) it makes me drool
!
I get to see the Craig Ferguson show on Sunday
I bought a cute outfit to wear to go. I got it from work.., I get an associate discount of 20%, and there was a 15% coupon off apparel… AND the clothes were on sale for 50% off O_O!!!!!!!!!1
Beer makes me gag. I don’t know how the taste is acquired.. or if it isn’t LOL
Me too! Always hated beer! Cant’ stand the smell of it either. Glad my man is not a beer drinker. It grosses me out. The worst thing I ever tried in my life was homemade beer. Just the thought of it makes me want to retch!
I’m not a wine fan either. I like Chardonnay though. I very rarely drink but when I do I like fun, yummy stuff like Baja Rosa, Pina Colada or a Chocolate Monkey! ![]()
I bought a case of Blue Moon Summer Honey Wheat beer….
Apparently, they bought the Red Tick Beer brewery (from Simpsons) because it tasted like wet dog!!! ![]()
Earlier this morning, I let Huckles out of her room and sat on the couch. She was in the hall, I said “Huckleberry, do a binky! Do a binky!!!” after about the 5th time, she started to run towards me and then… SHE BINKIED!
An awesome sideways jump about 2 ft high! With butt wiggles!!!! Then she went and sat in the kitchen and stared at the wall for a while before deciding she had to make her hole in the wall bigger, so she chewed on the wall ![]()
I am getting anxious about my trip. I leave June 17th for Taos, New Mexico. I will be gone for 2 weeks. Im taking a photography class there. Thoughts swarmed my head last night while I was at work like “I hope I have enough money saved” “This is my first trip without my parents, what if something goes wrong… ” “do i really want to leave my comfort zone for 2 weeks?” and of course “how will Huckleberry take this?” I resolved that she wont notice because Boyfriend will be feeding her. As for the rest of it

Chacha is currently loafing.. despite it being 8:30 pm. She is so lazy.. her laziness is almost like a cat. I want to snuggle her, but she would be very angry with me.
Huckle, is the bf going to take care of Huckleberry while you are gone? I hope that you will have a great time
My new batch of wheat grass is mature and I gave it to Miss Diva after I got home from work.
I’m off tomorrow
I get to see Mr. Ferguson in person! I heard he doesn’t bring his robot sidekick, but that is okay.
