Hey Melissa. What fur balls you have there!
If I remember correctly, your rabbit is not spayed, correct? If that’s still the case, female rabbits who are not spayed can go through false pregnancies, where they pull out their fur for nesting purposes. Falsee pregnancies, to my knowledge, can be somewhat stressful for female rabbits, so it’s recommended to spay female rabbits. More importantly than the stress of false pregnancies is the very high chance of uterine cancer for unfixed female rabbits (upwards to 80% according to some sources).
Another potential is as you mention, stress. Is she showing signs of being lonely or bored?
And lastly, a user once posted about lots of fur present in their rabbit’s cage, and it ended up being that the rabbit’s teeth were too long and when the rabbit would groom, it would actually accumulate a lot of fur in its mouth until it eventually fell out like a ball. How is your rabbit’s hay-eating?
