Male Rabbit Traumatized

Hi everyone,

I have two males:

Twix – 10 month old dwarf agouti rabbit, neutered 
Mr. Big – 5 month old lop, to be neutered real soon

After Twix got neutered, he got along real well with Mr. Big along with my two other guinea pigs (Rolo and Snickers, all who have their separate space). One morning, I left them alone for not even a minute and the two rabbits were going at it  I guess Mr. Big had a spurt of hormones because they were getting along fine the night before. Twix is a big boy, and he was the one who got injured. Mr. Big managed to get a good bite at his eye,,. within 24 hours, he couldn’t even open it. We took Twix to the vet and he’s all healed up now and I keep them separated.

Unfortunately, I think Twix is traumatized ’cause now he lashes out at Mr. Big and my two little ones. They have separate play times now to keep everyone safe and happy. Is there anything I can do to help Twix become friendly with my other fur babies? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

After Mr. Big has been neutered and a month has passed to be sure all the hormones are gone and he is out of any post neuter craze that he might go through, you can try bonding him with Twix. Since that will be several weeks away, hopefully Twix will have lost his aggression due to the fight. Keep their pens near each other, but do not let them be together until the neuter and recuperation period. When the time is right, you can try to bond them.
