Now that Easter has come and gone, there are probably several people who ended up with rabbits without knowing how to care for them properly. I think we should start putting together a info sheet of sorts for information on rabbit care to post on Craig’s List and kijiji.
We can start something like this:
Subject: Info for new bunny owners
Did you end up with a bunny for Easter and are not sure how to care for him? Pet rabbits can definitely be a lot of work, but there is lots of good info out there on proper rabbit care for new bunny owners. Here are some useful links on info for how to feed, house, litter train, and otherwise care for your new pet:
Some ones we can add:
-Safe food for rabbits list.
-How to build your own cage for less!
-Some basic do’s and don’t (ie don’t feed seeded food or use wire-bottomed cages)
I’ll compile other suggestions into this original post so we can start one big one
Thinking back to when we brought Pringles home, I wish I had known about the different ways to set up condos and bunny living areas so I would have protected my wood floors. I just didn’t even think of simple things like the cheap sheet of linoleum, etc to put down under rugs and things. and cleaning up P and P (pee and poop) so it didn’t smell or stain.
I took your ad, added a line about the “Language of Langamorhps-however-your-spell-it” and posted in the Pets forum on Craigslist, as well as the local pet classifieds. We’ll see if it gets flagged off for spam, hopefully not.
