Hi everyone. I have a 1 year old Californian/ mini rex male named Hector. He IS neutered and has been for quite awhile. I also have 5 cats in the same household. They all get along wonderfully… until today for some reason. My one cat (whom Hector is closest with) has been separated from everyone because he recently had surgery. Today, I let the cat out with everyone else because he’s recovering nicely. Hector started lunging and chased him a little. I didn’t pay much attention to it since they’ve been apart for about 2 weeks so Hector isn’t used to his smell possibly after being separated. But then he started chasing the other cats. He’s not biting but he just lunges at them whenever they get near him and he’s kind of freaking them out. Does anyone have any experience with a bunny suddenly turning on the cats?

I can’t relate but it sounds to me like he’s treating the cats like his warren and the “new” kitty needs to be shown his place. Hopefully, the aggression will wear off soon. Someone else may have some advice for you.
