In looking to get Quinn a friend . I really want a Flemish giant. I have the space for a bigger bun. I just wanted some input from owners of bigger bunnies. And what other breeds I could possible look at. My reason I have hesitant about getting a Flemish is they have a shorter life span and they have many health problems.

You’re input would be great ! Thank you !

You could go with a French or English Lop or even a Californian. Most of the bigger breeds do indeed have a shorter lifespan. Why don’t you take Quinn to a shelter for speed dating? It would give you a sense of who she could be interested in, rather than a potential friend that doesn’t work out. Just a thought though Also the size difference of a Holland Lop with a Flemish Giant or one of the bigger Lops will be hysterical.

ooooh I want flemmies too! I hope to have the space to have them one day.

I don’t know a whole lot about specifics of different breeds, but I do know that dwarf breeds usually have problems too, particularly with their teeth. So that’s something to consider too.

Do you have a local rabbit rescue near you? If so, I recommend trying out some “speed dates” to see who your bunny likes!

You could always go with a mixed breed like this awesome dude:

My best guess is Flemmie/Cali. He’s about 11 lbs of adorable. Check out your local shelter for big bunnies.
