My bunny marchie and her sister Treasure have been bonded for 3 years now but just this morning treasure somehow got out of her pen and took off down the street. We’ve been searching for hours now but with no luck. There’s a chance she may find her way home but I’m starting to loose hope. We live in a busy neighborhood with lots of bushes and decks and cars for her to hide under. As for marchie, she’s been with another rabbit all her life and has never been alone before. How can I tell if she’s depressed or not taking this well? I am not sure if I will be allowed another rabbit as I was lucky to be allowed to keep these two. Will she be alright on her own if I give her lots of attention or would she be better off in a new home with other rabbits? I’m not sure what to do and I’m so worried for both of them.
Thanks in advance,
Gosh how scary – me and my boyfriend saw a pet rabbit loose and he ran around the neighbourhood for a week (we couldn’t catch him )but he eventually went back to his garden (outdoor bunny) Haven’t seen him since so assume he’s safe and sound now! Could you set up a bait trap to catch her?
If Treasure doesn’t make it back, signs of depression for Marchie would include lack of appetite, lethargy, lack of interest in her normal things etc.
