I usually use detergent to clean my bun’s litterbox (the kind you wash your clothes with) is this unsafe? She has not had problems with it so far and it gets rid of pee smells.

What do you use for cleaning your bun’s litter box?

Dish soap (dawn) or vinegar/water .. anything with scents I prefer to keep away from their stuff.

I use vinegar/water and/or baking soda to clean pretty much everything pet related.

I’m also in the vinegar and baking soda camp I use those to clean pretty much everything in the house including the kitchen and bathroom. It works great and that way I know everything is safe for pets.

Would vinegar and water alone get rid of smell? Just wondering because my bunny’s pee smells horrible!

Vinegar eats away the urine, so yeah it gets rid of smells. If your bun is not altered the smell will be worse than a normal bun, but should still work.
