I am having issues with my little boy Poe. He doesn’t seem understand the concept of the litter box. He sleeps in it and instead pees everywhere else in this enclosure. I mean everywhere. There is no particular corner preference.
When I adopted Bubba, my female, at 3 months of age she was already perfectly trained. I never really had to teach her to use the litter box, she just took to it. Occasionally there would be an accident, but only when she was out of her enclosure and it would only happen if she didn’t have access to her litter box.
Poe is a whole different story. He likes to sleep on soft things so I provided him with a bunny bed and a towel. He still proceeded to pee everywhere and elected to sleep in the litter.
I this behavior normal? Is it because he’s still very young? Is this a boy thing? He hasn’t been neutered yet because he’s too young for the operation, could this be the reason? The two have not been bonded yet, could this be a territorial thing?
What should I do?
