Hi, my bunny it’s been eating his litter lately (pine pellet) so I ended up getting a grid for his litter box and getting him to the vet because He ended up not being able to poop.

Since He’s not able to get to the litter now, you guys think is ok to swich to a cat litter less expensive, always taking care of choosing one without dust

Hey there! Good idea on getting a grate for the litter box! I recently had to get one for my bun, who loves to sit in his urine for hours, and its helped out a ton. Anywho,

Personally i wouldn’t recommend putting kitty litter in a bunnies litter box, even if they can’t get to it. It can not only be toxic (if they could get to it and possibly eat it), but most of them have perfumes/scents and baking soda to control odor.

Both would be a lung irritant to bunnies, who already have sensitive noses.  I use plain care fresh, and it seems to be cheap and effective. Its just plain recycled paper, i know there is a few others that are similar like yesterdays news.   Hope this helped.

I use Kaytee Clean and Cozy, just plain white… no scents, or dyes… and I have found that it fluffs up wonderfully and is very soft and absorbent… I have purchased it only once in the pet stores… Ouch! ??? so from that point on, I have only bought it online from chewy. The price for the biggest bag was still less than the smaller one at the store!

Chewy is a life saver, honestly. Recently started ordering from them and we haven’t gone back to other retailers. We buy all our bedding, hay, pellets, and more from there. Definitely recommend as well.
