        Hi everyone,

Charlie’s fur near her bum is matted – not loose poops, but I can tell there’s a little pee because her fur is white. She let me brush them once but I wasn’t able to get it all. She’s not having the brushing anymore. I think it’s from sitting in her litterbox so much and her belly fur is kind of longer.

I keep reading about people with litter box grates for their buns but I’m not sure if I’m finding the right thing searching for something to buy. Does anybody have a link where I can get one? Or advice on how to make my own?

I’m not sure what to do about her matting because she won’t let me brush it out, but want to prevent any further matting.

        Thanks in advance!!

There’s litter screens that sit right on top of the litter, and then there are raised litter grates that have a small distance between the litter and the screen, allowing for maximum pee drainage. I unfortunately just have a screen which I think does a fairly good job and is easier to find.

I use plastic knitting mesh as a screen!

The litter screens are sold here in the Binky Bunny store. You can get just the screen or a litter box with the screen. Scroll down to near the bottom of the page. https://store.binkybunny.com/supplies-c17.aspx

Yeah, a litter screen or the other option is to purchase a box that has the screen built in, they’re often called sifting litter boxes.
