My bun Chaos is just over 6 years old. He has arthritis and is currently on 0.4ml of metacam twice a day. He has liquid tramadol for when he’s in sever pain but it’s becoming a nightmare to administer. We used to put his metacam on herbs for him to eat, but it doesn’t work with tramadol. As soon as he smells it he won’t go near it. I’ve tried mixing it with fruit juice and he still won’t go near it. We currently have to syringe it straight into his mouth. We have previously had issues with having to constantly syringe medicine into his mouth, he gets over stressed and then goes into stasis, so we’re trying to avoid doing it often to reduce stress. But we need to figure out how to get him to take it without stressing him. I know as his arthritis gets worse he’s going to need tramadol on a more regular basis so I want to try and figure out a safe method for him

I know my buns hated it. I would have to force feed it to them. Have you asked the vet to flavor it? Have you tried putting it in something very very sweet so it’s harder to tell?
