Hi there I just left my bunnies for a night. I gave them extra pellets and alot of hay before I left. I was wondering how other people do it when they leave there bunnies for a night?

For a single night, I just feed them before I go, and when I come back. Nothing extra, just fed at a different time.

I just left my bunnies for the night. I was gone Saturday 9am and came home Sunday around 4pm. I left the cage door open for my two buns outside in the living room area and also the same for the bunny that is living in my room. I left extra hay, pellets and water. Gave them extra veggies as well Saturday morning. Made extra careful the gates were blocked up so they wouldn’t be able to get to one another. Everything was fine when I came home except it seemed like they had a poop-party! OMG, there was poop everywhere! The two outside usually poop in their litter box only..I’m not sure what happened there. Next time, if I decide to leave them overnight again, I will leave them inside their cage.

Thanks. I normally don’t give them vegetables because I give them at night time and yesterday when I left i left at 1. Should I be giving them there veggies before I leave?

I just left Lolli overnight last weekend. I just left her pellets and made sure she had plenty of hay. I didn’t give her lettuce because I’ve done that in the past and it doesn’t get eaten before it goes bad.

I only give what they would normally get that day, no extras to go bad.

With Eddie and Lolli, I gave them their normal lettuce right before I left one time and I came home the next day to it still sitting there, all wilty and barely touched. lol I gave them their lettuce by 7pm at night and sometimes they wouldn’t really start eating it until 8pm or later. Lolli’s that way now. Although lettuce time has been pushed back till 8:30. lol

I do the same, feed the buns a little extra before I leave.  But with my two critters, they usually are almost done eating everything before I even leave the house!  Then they get stuck eatting hay for the rest of the time.

I do pretty much the same as what everyone else is saying, but I also put a water-bottle in the cage whenever I’m going to be gone overnight. That way I know she has water if she tips her bowl over, she’ll still have a source for water. Well, she usually doesn’t tip it over, but for some reason she likes to try and see how much newspaper she can fit in her bowl! Given a choice she doesn’t really use the bottle, but I know she has the choice and it makes me feel better lol
