Hi all,
I’ve had my 2 bunnies for 8 years and I’ve never left them overnight without someone to take care of them. I have a pet sitter, a few neighbors and none of them are available for this weekend. We have to leave around lunch time Saturday and would be back around the same time Sunday. So we’d keep it to 24 hours if we had to leave them alone… Is this a bad idea? I know people who leave their bunnies alone for days when they go away but I never felt comfortable doing that.
I would give plenty of extra hay, clean litter box, and they use dishes for water so I could put an extra one in case one gets dirty but they’re usually good. I don’t like the idea of extra pellets because I don’t want any tummy upset from too much, and actually only one of the bunnies gets pellets. So the big thing they’d be missing is the salads. We always give salads in the am and pm. More than likely they’re just going to be mad at us haha, I’m just hoping it doesn’t stress them out. I was thinking I could leave their PM salad out around noon when we are leaving?? I think it’s ok to sit for a bit right? Then at least they have that…
Sorry this is so long! Thanks in advance for any help!
