I took little Rain to the pet shop I got him from to get his nails cut and he’s not used to being picked up. I only ever picked him up once and that was when I got him three months ago. The ladies at the store had a hard time holding him safely and then he squirmed out of their hands and they dropped him. He landed on his feet. He was quiet for a little while when we came back but then started acting normal again. He didn’t break anything luckily but my only concern is his eating. I’ve heard that rabbits can GI stasis from stress. His poops are a little darker and smaller than usual. He ate his pellets and veggies when I gave them to him. Anything I should really watch over? He’s still naughty as ever as he just tipped a glass of cold cold water all over me. ?? But I understand that bunnies hide their pain making it so much harder to detect it.

A stressful event can cause a bout of weird poos. Since he’s eating and drinking and pooping, seems like he’s doing fine.

Is there a reason you went to the pet store instead of a rabbit vet? Pet stores may be experienced with non-rabbit grooming, but rabbit grooming requires some experience (potentially why he was dropped).

Semi agreeing with Wick. If you cant do your rabbits nails, you need to take your bunny to someone very experienced to help you out. If the pet store you havent doesnt have a rabbit specialist/rabbit vet, you should find another place to get their nails done.

It seems like Rain is doing fine, though. He didnt break anything, he is still acting normal, and hes eating and toileting. At this point, I dont think you have anything to worry about

Okay that’s cool! He’s slightly nervous around everyone now. That’s my only concern I would have gone to this vet but it’s kind of a while away from my home. I’m only want to take him there for emergencies or when it’s neutering time. Or spaying time. Not sure. But anyways i kind of put trust in the ladies there because they have bunnies of their own. It really wasn’t their fault actually. The good thing was that when the person holding him realized he was slipping she bent lower so he didn’t fall that far. That kinda saved him. I don’t know if she’s a rabbit vet though. The main problem is that I spoil little Rain and always will and can’t handle seeing my bunny in discomfort or unhappiness so when I tried to pick him up I just decided overall not to do that. So basically that was his second or first time ever being picked up. When he was a baby it was easier for the pet store people of course. But now if you pick him up he thrashes around like a whale in a fit. I think they are experienced though. From what I could see. Atleast one of them was.

My rabbits always have darker, smaller poops after a stressful event (vets for example) I wouldn’t worry too much

Okay update: Rain has not pooped that much throughout the day. He’s been running around and eating but he hasn’t pooped much. Is this normal? He doesn’t seem stressed at all now. But I’m keeping him in hay and water. He has pooped since then but not that much. Only about twenty to thirty little poops.
