  So I have a wooden bookcase I’d like to put in my room but I’m afraid that my bunny, Bentley, will chew it.

  Blocking access from chewing it (putting a grid against it) is the most straight forward option. Some people use clear tape along the wood which may prevent some rabbits wanting to chew it. You can also just monitor upon first exposure and be resilient in dissuading chewing when your rabbit begins or is about to.

  Also offer Bentley something more suitable for chewing that he has easy access to nibble at day-round to decrease his desire to chew on things he shouldn’t. For Panda and Fernando, I’ve found so far that offering mixed hay around the clock works pretty well for this purpose, since they have to use different jaw motions to chew the various kinds of hay which wears their teeth down better than just one kind of hay.
