Hey guys, so i know there are already a million threads posted on this, but I’m going to post another.
In two weeks, over August long weekend, my bunnies will be joining me at my family condo. My female bunny is extremely calm during car rides, typically flopping, my male not so much; they are bonded though, so he should be okay. They’ve been in the car for an hour long car ride before, and once the car stopped moving they ate fine. The trip will be 3 hours, I will be travelling with my boyfriend as well, so I have someone to keep an eye on them. My car also has AC, yay! So that will be on for the duration of the trip.
I’ve just got a few questions:
1) Is 3 hours too long to do straight? I’ve seen that a lot of people try to take a break every couple of hours, so should I try to stop around the 2 hour mark, or should they be okay?
2) Has anyone used puppy pee pads in the carrier? I’m thinking of picking some up to place at the bottom, both for traction and absorption. If it doesn’t seem like a good idea, I can use towels (which I typically use), but I’m not sure if I’ll have a chance to do laundry while on vacation, so I just figured the pads can be tossed.
Anyways, I have never taken my bunnies on a longer trip before, so any tips will be preferable! If you have any questions or opinions I would love to hear it because I just want the best for my babies!!!
Thanks in advance everyone!
