Hi everyone! We just adopted a second bunny yesterday! We have been raising our only bunny, Binky since he was 5 weeks old (he just turned 1 year old last month) and thought he needs a friend. He is a very lovable, playful and energetic bunny…and we really love him, so wanted him to have someone he can share his life with. We also wanted to give another bunny a loving, caring home (I would adopt all the bunnies if I could)! We saw this female bunny at our local humane shelter a few months ago and we absolutely loved her. But we had to wait to bring Binky in for a meet & greet because he wasn’t neutered then. We had him neutered (my poor boy was NOT happy and was scared of us for 3 days ) and then finally took him there.

Binky is the white & grey bunny. I need a new name for the new bunny (she’s about 11 months old). They’re still getting to know each other….I am keeping them separated in 2 different enclosures and alternating them and their free-run timings and following everything the shelter has asked me to…plus the handouts and the infos I could find here. They both are excited about each other…and the new one wants to be the dominant one. Binky is fine with her in his home but not fine with handing over his power. They’re both being stubborn but slowly calming down. Things were much smoother today than it was yesterday. Plus the new one is slowly beginning to trust me (she is extremely shy and needs time and patient owners, I was told.

She also was bonded to her mom but lost her). She doesn’t like to be touched, I was told. But after hand feeding her some bokchoy and speaking calmly to her throughout the day…and petting Binky in front of her might have worked some magic…because tonight, she let me scratch her head and pet her for a few seconds. I did it a few times…each time she let me do it longer than the last. Of course it’s a huge deal to me when an animal trusts me like that! I am overjoyed. She also let my husband touch her nose a little before running away. Anyways…here they are! For some weird reason I am unable to copy/paste the pic URLs here…so please see the comment below for them

Congratulations on the new bunny! Good to hear a shelter bun now has a home & bunny buddy. : )
It sounds like you’ve made progress in such little time.

I cannot see pics just yet. Do you have them in an online photo album or attaching file from pics stored on computer?

                            Congrats on your new bun!

When I post pics on here, everybody can see them for about a day. Then, they do the same thing where people can’t see them, I can’t even see them. Maybe we both have bad luck with our photos?

Oh I am so glad you can finally see them! The second pic is of their meeting at the shelter. The rest are at our home.

You know she jumped out of the pen last night? Around 1:30 AM! Good thing I was still awake! We found her relaxing behind my hermit crab terrarium (that and behind/under the sofa seem to be her fav. spots). So we captured her and now the pen is covered on top with a thin bedsheet, secured with clothepins! Both bunnies seem to be getting along…no nipping etc. They either sit quietly beside each other in their pen/cage (Binky actually stretches out), or ignore. Often if one is out, they both run along the pen bars, touch noses then run away. They repeat this a few times then go their own ways. She also accepts hand feedings. My sister met her for the first time this morning…and she gladly took some Gai Lan (Chinese broccoli…both bunny’s fav!) from her. Still not too comfortable with touching, but lets me pet if I talk softly to her

MoxieMeadows, this pic thing so weird isn’t it? I have no idea why though! I am glad Imgur was able to fix it. I’ll stick to this from now!
