I don’t have the ability to post pix due to my messed up hard drive, but I’ll take some to show off later when I can upload again.

She looks so different without all her flooffeh. But it’s been hot here the last few days, she got extremely overheated in the car yesterday, and we have to go in again tomorrow to take my daughter to have her tooth out, so I don’t want her to be uncomfortable.

I goofed up on the tail. I hadn’t meant to take any off that, but she sat sideways while I was clipping her bum fur suddenly and I realized I got a chunk out of it when she stood back up, then had to even up the ends…still don’t think I got it quite right. I did leave her ear tufts though. They are too cute to cut and don’t cause her any distress.

I’m glad I don’t do this for a living. It drives me nuts when my hubby tells me to just cut my kids’ hair instead of taking them to a barber or salon. It always comes out messed up. I wouldn’t be able to make much money as a dog groomer, I’d screw up too many coats. But at least I didn’t catch her tongue with the scissors or anything like that. I knew a woman who did haircuts for people that clipped her shih tzu’s tongue in two…he looked like Gene Simmons of KISS. >.<

Anyone else onboard have a wee doggy who has to have trims during summer? Do you do this yourself or take them to a professional?

Boy am I glad buns don’t need this done! Jenna barely held still as it was, I’d hate to have to get fur off Mimzy or Fiver as they zoomed by!

No flooffeh? *sniff* I was almost afraid to open this thread.

I’m reminded of the hair cuts Mum used to give us. Lol And to think she trusted us to then cut her hair when we were a bit older too!

Well, Jennas comfort out trumps looks (says me, typing in 2 layers of dated track pants, robe, bed hair..) so I’m glad she’s sorted out.

My aunt has a daschund who has longer hair. Not like a shih tzu or anything like that. But her fur can get too long on her ears, etc. So my aunt clips her every so often. My aunt takes care of all her grooming cause she doesn’t want to spend the money on a groomer. Lucy sits still and everything. Which my aunt is always surprised at just because you never know with animals when you try to groom them. lol

I cut my dog’s hair all the time. We got sick of paying the groomer to leave her in a cage for 8 hours and then only spend about 1 1/2 hours actually clipping her. They wouldn’t even let her out to go to the bathroom and I remember when I would pick her up she would practically explode outside. They would complain that she would nip at them. Well, it’s because you’re pulling on her paws (she never liked having her paws pulled on like that). We finally took her to this one place outside of town that boarded dogs and did grooming. They were so nice to her there! They loved on her and gave her treats. They took her outside to their play area so she could do her business. We were so pleased, until we had to pay the $60 bill. Right after that, my husband went out and bought a pair of professional clippers. Very expensive, but they more than paid for themselves.
