  It was supposed to be a pre-spay wellness check. As it turns out, it’s a boy! Jackie is Jack again. His testicles just haven’t dropped, so no wonder I thought he was a girl I feel mightily embarrassed! However, he’s in great health. We decided to have them altered one at a time (money), and now that we don’t have a reproducing issue to worry about, we scheduled Harvey’s neuter first – Nov 10. I can’t wait!!

  No need They are often mis-sexed -in fact this happens a lot And hey-you have a perfect name for bunny that can be used for either sex

  Aw! Don’t be embarrassed. I believe someone here said that their vet was certain the bunny was one gender, went to do the surgery and found out….whoops! it was the other gender. LOL It’s very difficult to tell with bunnies. But now that you know, don’t ever make that mistake again and call Jack a girl! I accidently called Eddie a girl once and he gave me the stink eye. LOL

  Haha, welcome to the club! Remi was supposedly a girl too, but…nope. It happens all the time…seems like every now and then somebody will pop up with a mis-sexed bunny.

  Not that this is the case here, but I think people should never trust pet stores to sex their bunnies! Years back Scooter and I were in a pet store at the West Edmonton Mall and there was a cute bunny in there that was on sale because it wasn’t a baby anymore. We asked the salesperson if it was a boy or girl and she said oh it’s girl. So we asked to see her. Picked her up, had a look at her, turned her over, and there’s 2 big furry almond shaped lumps on “her” underside. So we called the salesgirl over and said uhm…. see these?? NOT a girl. In this case it was definitely NOT a case of gosh we couldn’t tell, it was more a case of gosh we were too lazy to look and just decided it was a girl.

  Bahaha the shelter I got Wilbur from said she was a boy (they could’ve gotten her confused with her siblings)….but she’s a girl, by then I was already used to calling her Wilbur (:

  Haha thanks you guys I actually looked myself shortly after I brought him home, and I was kind of comparing to what Harvey had going on downstairs. The vet had a hard time finding testicles actually – partly cuz he was kicking and struggling so much and partly cuz they haven’t dropped yet. Ah well, I’m just glad I picked a versitile name
  
  SO excited to say though – we worked it out and now BOTH of my boys are getting neutered next month.
  
  I told Harvey about his neuter day, and the little bugger bit me! If I weren’t so sure he’s deaf, i’d think he actually understood what I said to him. LOL
