Izzy and Dutchess!

Hi!  I’m Izzy and below you can see my bun-bun Dutchess Marie. She was bought from a pet shop and abandoned by her owners three months later. In comes Izzy and adopts her first pet three days after she went on the adoption market. She was named Dutchess by someone else because of her breed, and I didn’t change it, but I added the Marie after it. I was never a person who thought I’d have a Duchess or Princess name for a pet, but I have to admit, her name fits her to a tee. She hates to get dirty, likes to ‘sit pretty’ as I call it, and snuffs her nose at anything new (I have to cajole and pursuade, for instance it took me three days to get her to even lick a piece of banana). Actually if I had gone to the humane society fifteen minutes later than I had, she would have been adopted by another family, because as I was walking back with a worker to get her sheet to adopt her, another family was about ready to take her out of the cage she was in, and ended up leaving without a pet they were so disappointed.

Anyway, that’s us, I’m still learning the ins and outs of bunnies. She seems pretty loyal to me though, if someone else sits on the floor to play with her, she’ll be interested, but if I sit down too over she comes to give me kisses! She loves to groom my face, and spends quite a while making my forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin all clean. I love to watch her binky and do the Bunninator 500  I’m glad I found this board, so I’m sure I’ll be popping in to read up on stuff and asking lots of questions.

Hi and welcome! Im kinda new here too and everyone here is really great and very helpful! Im new to bunnies too its been only three weeks ago since I rescued my boy Basil, oh and dont feel bad about asking alot of questions I do it ALOT and everyone is always quick to answer them! Dutchess Marie is stunning! cant wait to see more pics of her! I

Hello Izzy and Dutchess Marie! What a beauuuuuuuuuuuuutiful bunbun. Momo and Remy and I must insist on more pictures of her royal cuteness very soon, please!

What’s SO WEIRD is that I was watching The Dutchess just last night! One of my favorite movies. I understand never thinking you’d have a “Dutchess” or “Princess” pet, but the Dutchess in this movie was SO SASSY and such a strong woman. I bet Dutchess Marie is just like that!
