So it’s been awhile since I’ve been a bunny mom and Harry is the first baby (4 months old) I’ve taken care of and I just want to double check on some diet things. First of all the pellet he was on before was not an alfalfa based pellet, and apparently he wasn’t eating it much anywhere, but he had a mix of Timothy and alfalfa hay provided but it was more of an occasional thing then an unlimited supply. So when I brought Harry home I continued the Timothy and alfalfa mix of hay only now he has an unlimited supply and he devours it (the alfalfa first usually and then the Timothy. My question is should I continue to mix the two since he isn’t very young or should I just be providing alfalfa? I also kept him on his pellets from his old home for about 4-5 days just to let him get settled. I’ve now started mixing in the oxbow brand alfalfa pellets for young bunnies and haven’t been measuring/limiting the pellets. He will pick out some of the new pellets but doesn’t eat the old ones, I’ve been doing the mixing for 3 days now and no runny poops or changes. Should I be concerned that about his lack of interest in pellets and the fact that he just won’t eat the old brand? I’ve heard of buns who don’t have pellets because their diet is varied enough I’ve also introduced a spring herb mix salad in small amounts and fresh dill as well to get him used to veggies which he had never had. At first he had no interest but when I added some dill he really started to like all the veggies.
Okay I think that’s it! Basically I’m just looking for any advice or changes that should be made. Also for being awesome and reading through my whole worrywart post here is a picture of some 4 month old bunny butt and ears that go for days
