  I bought this bag of litter at the pet shop today.

  I assume those are pine pellets. Yes, they are safe to use. Pine pellets do not have the dangerous aromatic oils that pine shavings have.

  Thanks tobyluv! I was using Cat’s Best (Universal) but that was getting expensive. Good to know I can use these
