I’m looking for a bigger cage for my rabbit, so decided to look for any possible candidates and I see this. It looks like it’s pretty good, all the decent cages I’ve seen had a potty thing in the corner, but I’m unsure if it’s big enough. I can’t compare it directly side by side of my current cage. Though it looks a bit look like it, I’m not 100% sure. My current cage seems big enough for a small sized rabbit, irregardless, he’s rather content with it as I allow him outside of his cage for almost the entire day, I’ve had it for a long time so I figured that it’s time to get a new one. Even my parents believe it isn’t too great for him — a little small.

So would this be better or is this cage too small as well?

I can’t see a picture, but almost no store-bought rabbit cages are large enough for a rabbit. Fortunately there are many alternatives, including dog crates, dog pens/X-Pens, and cages built with shelving grids. As a general rule, a rabbit needs atleast 8 square feet of space, though this is still quite small and requires the rabbit to have large amounts of free range time.

I’ve personally never seen a store-bought rabbit cage that I liked or considered adequate for a bunny, even if the bun were small and the cage were advertised on the box as being one of those “giant” ones with fancy platforms and what-not. I bought a very nice NIC-based (the “shelving grids” @LongEaredLions was talking about) “bunny condo” habitat via eBay which has two levels and 15-17 square feet space, completed assembly last night, and plan to pair it with a large X-pen with the option to maybe eventually transition to complete free-range once my place is thoroughly bunny-proofed.

I agree with the others. I’ve not seen a cage advertised for rabbits that was big enough. I have a cage that I thought was pretty big at first, but I’ve learned that they really need a lot more space than you think. I do have free range bunnies though and they don’t use the cage at all besides for digging in the sandbox. They are much happier if allowed to be out and about. Can you bunny proof a room and have them free range with the smaller cage open 24/7 to allow them in and out as they please?
