Hi guys! We’ve been trying to bond our two sister bunnies for a while, but kept getting interrupted. We’ve been switching their stuff and pens every day, and put up a clear divider where they can smell each other through. Last night, we got them into a new neutral space (the other one was contaminated from previous attempts). They ignored each other mostly, and then put their heads together, and I pet them at the same time. Does that sound like a good sign? Or did I maybe mess up their perception of who’s in charge by petting them both?

That sounds like a very good sign! Both the ignoring and that they put their heads together and let you pet them. I dont think you messed anything up at all.

Sounds great to me! I think erring on the side of more interaction with them and making them feel safe and happy is good at first. Anytime there isn’t aggression is positive in my book 🙂

That sounds really great! I often use the petting trick in early dates to help build some good happy feelings, so don’t worry about that at all!
