My bunny Luna and I just moved into a new apartment. She has her own room which has her litter box, food, and an abundance of toys. At night and while I’m at work I keep a fence blocking her from going about the rest of the apartment (I have to keep the door open since the a/c unit is not in her room). However, when I’m home I notice she tries to move the fence a lot to get out. So I let her roam around. She LOVES having the room to sprint from one end of the hallway to the other, but I have noticed that since she likes spending time out of her room, she obviously spends less time around her food and thus she eats less of her oat hay. Her poops have gotten smaller and I don’t have to replenish her hay nearly as often, but she still is drinking enough water. She still eats her veggies and handful of pellets as well. I’m not sure if this should be cause for concern? She’s definitely getting enough exercise but I worry that she’s so excited about the space that she forgets to eat enough to get sufficient nutrition.
