I read the article on the HRS website (http://www.rabbit.org/journal/1/liver-disease.html), which mentions that the fumes from pine shavings can be harmful to rabbits. Does anyone know if this is just for shavings, or does it apply to solid pieces of wood as well? We screwed 2 planks of pine to the top of Digby’s box in his cage, so he can have a ledge to jump up to and sleep on. There is still a bit of a pine smell to them – do you think this could be harmful?

It’s the shavings, has to do with the process and also the natural smell (but its’ released alot because of the large surface area). the wood is perfectly ok for you to use
