As I was combing my rabbit this morning, I could kind of feel her spine when I was trying to get her to stay still. As I would pet her from her head to her bottom, I could feel it. I have always felt this, but I didn’t know whether this might have meant she was underweight or not. When we visited her foster, the lady said she was *surely* not underweight, implying she was a big rabbit. I could feel her spine when I petted her at that lady’s house too. Do you guys feel the spine of your rabbits? Is this normal?

I can feel Luna’s a tiny bit when she is sitting, but not when she is lying down. I’m not sure but I think how much you feel your bun’s spine will vary by breed? Though in any breed, I don’t think it should be so prominent as to feel it poking out. The ribs can help you determine proper weight as well. When you look at her from above when she is in a sitting position, does her body appear pear-shaped?

I can feel both of my bun’s spine and ribs, but he’s absolutely not underweight. He’s got a nice round belly
To see if your bun’s weight is ok do as Luna said (look from above) and also look from the side when she’s sitting up. You should see an armonic, plump shape.
When taking her to the vet do ask them to weight her, so you’ll be 100% sure she’s ok
